January 5-6, 2018 - Big Swamp Smoke-Off - Naples, Florida
The Collier County Fair is proud to announce its 6th annual Big Swamp Smoke-Off Bar-B-Que competition. A large contingent of the country's top cook teams will arrive in Naples to compete as the top cooks. Our two day event will include activities for the kids, live entertainment, and other vendors. The competition will take place at the Collier County Fairgrounds. Admission is Free for Adults and Children.
January 12-13, 2018 - National Potato Council Annual Meeting
The NPC Annual Meeting is your opportunity to connect with other grower leaders from across the country and to shape national public policy impacting potato production and distribution. These policies have a real impact on the day-to-day operation of your business and there is no voice too small to make a real impact. Topics of discussion include trade, environment, legislative and government affairs, and more. Held immediately following POTATO EXPO, the Annual Meeting provides a way to get up-to-date on issues facing potato growers and network with others in the industry. The meeting includes with a reception and awards banquet recognizing leaders and innovators in the industry.
January 12-13, 2018 Apalachicola Oyster Cook-Off
This year’s 8th Annual Oyster Cook-Off features a silent auction, oysters galore, shrimp, smoked mullet, hot dogs, hamburgers, local beer, live music, kids’ activities, dancing performances and a 5K run! Enter your best recipe and be a contestant in the oyster cook-off or just come out and enjoy a day of wonderful food, refreshments and music. All proceeds goes directly towards paying for the brand new fire truck they were able to purchase a few years ago, due to this sole fundraising event!

The Florida Key Lime Pie Company will be presenting its 7th Annual Florida Key Lime Pie Festival at Brevard Veterans Memorial Park in Merritt Island. It’s a fun filled day with live music, food trucks, street performances, Key Lime Pie Contests and Florida’s best Key Lime Pie. Admission: $10 For Adults; $5 Children 12 and under; children 4 and under free. A percentage of this year’s ticket sales will be donated to the veterans memorial fund as well as all current and retired United States Military Members will receive free admittance with your military I.D.

A culinary competition and tasting that benefits the Monroe Association for ReMARCable Citizens (MARC provides life services for developmentally disabled adults in the Florida Keys).
