November 2, 2014  30th Annual Great Chowder Debate
St. Augustine, Florida
Inaugurated in 1984, the Great Chowder Debate is one of the longest-running chowder championships in the country.  Over 30 restaurants from the St. Augustine area come out every November to donate their chowders and their time in hope of winning first place, and to help the St. Augustine Shrine Club raise money for the Shriners’ Hospitals for the children.  The Great Chowder Debate features over 5,000 patrons and over 2,000 gallons of chowder, served by some of the Florida’s best restaurants and chefs.

November 5-16, 2014  Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair
Jacksonville, Florida
The Greater Jacksonville Agriculture Fair invites you to join us as we annually celebrate our heritage, culture and community, by providing good wholesome family fun, great entertainment, friendly competition and educational experiences for the whole family! The Fair is where agriculture, industry, education and creativity unite in a cooporative effort for twelve days to dynamically portray the resources and accomplishments of the Jacksonville area.

November 6-16, 2014  Volusia County Fair - DeLand, Florida
Volusia County Fairgrounds.  Live Entertainment, Livestock Shows, Food, Rides and Fun!  The Volusia County Fair & Youth Show provides a place for youth to learn and show their livestock products; residents of Volusia County are encouraged to participate in art, photography, music, agriculture, horticulture, home and craft projects. November 8, 2014  News-Journal's Food, Wine & Brew Festival
Daytona Beach, Florida
Join us for a fabulous fundraiser for United Way of Volusia/Flagler counties! Doors open at 6:00pm and close at 10:00pm. There will be live entertainment all evening. Come enjoy food from over 30 of the areas finest restaurants, sample 35 wines and over 100 beers in the beer garden!  General Admission tickets are $60 and include a tasting glass and samples from all the featured restaurants, beers and wines.  VIP Admission tickets are $85 and include a tasting glass and samples from all the featured restaurants, beers and wines. Printed photo on the red carpet available for pick up at the end of the night and access to the VIP pre-tasting from 5:00-6:00pm. The pre-tasting will have food, wine and beer that is only available to VIP guest. VIP Tickets are limited to 100 guest.  Parking is free all around the News Journal Center and taxi cabs will be available during the festival.

November 8-9, 2014  Annual Homosassa Seafood Festival
Homosassa, Florida
Homosassa has been home to many commercial fishermen with its spring-fed river and has been a nationally known sport fishing and recreation area since the mid-1800s.  The art show is judged and non-judged with exhibitors from all over the country. The food court is a well-known attraction of the festival.  Vendors from the community provide their seafood and other specialties. Whether it's fried catfish, gator tail or conch fritters, you will find it all and more in the food court.

November 9, 2014  33rd Annual Taste of the Islands - Sanibel, Florida
The event includes live music and over 20 restaurants--many different food categories, sure to please any palate. Benefits CROW, the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife.

Easter Seals South Florida 26th Annual Festival of Chefs
Nikki Beach, Miami Beach, Florida
Miami's finest chefs bring their talents and delicious sample foods to the Annual Festival of Chefs.  It's a night of wining and dining, while meeting chefs, and bidding on incredible silent auction items featuring fine art, jewelry, rare wines and getaway packages.  All proceeds will benefit the Easter Seals Culinary Arts school for young adults ages 16 to 22 with special needs.  Students from the Easter Seals Culinary Arts school will also participate in the event.

November 14, 2014  Wild Truffle Wine Dinner - Sarasota, Florida
Discover the exotic aroma and flavor of the wild truffle, direct from Italy!  Join one of Sarasota’s favorites, Chef Paul Mattison, and Celebrity Chefs Christopher Covelli and Sandra Lotti of Toscana Saporita Cooking School in Lucca, Italy. Chefs Covelli and Lotti are legendary with Italian cuisine and will discuss hunting the wild truffles, truffle dogs, and the stories surrounding the wildly expensive “mushroom-like aphrodisiacs” treasured by gourmets. The most luxurious and secretive flavors on earth will be found at this dinner, and of course, perfectly paired with superior wines provided by Banfi Vintners.  $250 per person. 6:30 pm at Mattison’s Forty-One, Sarasota.

November 15, 2014  Right Whale Festival - Jacksonville Beach, Florida
The Right Whale Festival celebrates the annual return of the endangered North Atlantic right whales and the beginning of right whale calving season off the coast of northeast Florida and Georgia. It’s a fun and free outdoor event for all ages, and its also an opportunity to expand awareness about the threats to right whales such as accidental ship strikes and entanglement in fishing gear. Less than 500 right whales exist today and their home waters span the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. and parts of Canada. Attendance: 7,000.

November 15, 2014  Harvest Time At Fort Mose - St. Augustine, Florida
In the fall of 1738, the 100 free Blacks of the newly established Pueblo de Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose celebrated their first harvest and feast of Thanksgiving.  The families living at Fort Mose in 1738 had planted vegetables such as pumpkins, squashes, gourdes, beans, lentils and corn. They had also planted fruit trees such as sweet and sour oranges, lemons, figs and persimmons. Many of these crops remain stables of family farms in Saint Johns, Putnam, Clay and Flagler counties even to this day.  This event celebrates the emergence of America’s unique culture and traditions from its African, Native American and European roots.
