160th Mississippi State Fair
The Mississippi State Fair means something different to each individual. To some, it is about entertainment like the carnival rides and concerts. For others, it means the opportunity to participate in one of the many competitions such as the livestock shows. No matter what makes this 12-day extravaganza special to you, the Mississippi State Fair has something to offer those of all ages. Over the years, the State Fair has evolved and expanded to enhance the fairgoers’ experience, but it remains true to its strong agricultural heritage by continuing to offer fun-filled, family entertainment. October 5-6, 2019 Mississippi Peanut Festival - Collins, Mississippi
Experience life on a working farm and enjoy Mississippi grown peanuts. More than 100 vendors with unique crafts and gifts, lots of great Southern food, and live entertainment will all be present at this year's event. Admission to the festival also gets you into the Mitchell Farms Pumpkin Patch and Maze where you can take wagon ride tours of the famr, learn about agriculture in Mississippi, pikc a free pumpkin from the patch, and explore a 6 acre maze.
October 11, 2019 Chili Festival - Tupelo, Mississippi
The Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association (DTMSA) will host the 18th annual Chili Fest in downtown Tupelo. The one-day festival will be held on South Broadway Street between Main and Troy and will consist of lunch, music and a chili cook-off. Teams of four members compete against other teams in a number of prize categories including chili recipe, presentation, team spirit, costumes, most creative tent and most original theme.
October 11-12, 2019 37th Annual Octoberfest - Cleveland, Mississippi
Octoberfest is a celebration of barbecue, arts, music, southern cuisine and much more! A Memphis Barbeque Network sanctioned barbecue contest, this annual festival draws 20,000 + to historic downtown Cleveland. Featuring non-stop live music on 2 stages, this year Octoberfest will feature Blues Blvd. where Mississippi merchandise, live blues music and authentic Mississippi cuisine can be enjoyed. Attendance: 20,000.

Enjoy delicious regional food specialties, Music & Entertainment, Arts & Craft show, Regional Food, Heritage & Educational Area, Car & Motorcycle Show, Mullet Toss Contest and Kid's Area. Fun for all ages. Over 30,000 folks attended last year”s festival. Attendance: 30,000.
October 20-27, 2019 Annual Jackson County Fair
Held annually at the Fairgrounds in Pascagoula is the best free fair in the South. The Jackson County Fair features food booths manned by non-profit church organizations, a midway stocked with rides for all ages, arts and crafts made by local citizens, live entertainment, business displays and a pavilion stocked with prize winning animals from the local FFA organizations.
October 24, 2019 Taste of Long Beach - Long Beach, Mississippi
Join the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce for the Taste of Long Beach event at the Long Beach Senior Center. Here's your chance to be able to sample and enjoy food and beverages from local restaurants. There will also be a silent auction and live music. Must be 21 of age or older to attend.
October 24-26, 2019 Southern Foodways Fall Symposium
For 2019 the Southern Foodways Alliance tells stories of the domestic and public labor that powers growing, cooking, and serving food. Join us in Oxford, and on the University of Mississippi campus. We will showcase work songs from Georgia cane fields and Carolina mills. We will tell stories of the cooks who feed working folk at construction sites and tobacco fields. We will sing songs of soup beans and the fight-for-fifteen.
October 31, 2019 Town-Wide Halloween Party - Tylertown, Mississippi
Get your costumes ready... the Town-wide Halloween Party from 3-5 p.m.. Participating businesses have free candy for costumed children (10 and under) starting at 3 p.m.. Standard Trick or Treating hours are from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Have a safe and Happy Halloween!!!
