November 24-Dec 17, 2023  The Wood’s 13th Annual Gingerbread House Festival - South Windsor, Connecticut
New England's biggest display of sweet and spicy Gingerbread Houses is returning to South Windsor's Wood Memorial Library and Museum again this year.  A holiday favorite, the show opens Thanksgiving weekend.  Experience the magic as you enter Wood's "winter wonderland" of dozens of Gingerbread Houses in all shapes and sizes - made by you!  We welcome everyone of all levels to enter their masterpieces, whether you are young or old, professional or just beginning!  If you'd like to enter your own Gingerbread masterpiece in the show, we welcome all skill levels - there is no entry fee.  Professional bakers: we welcome your entries to help publicize your store and bakery.  Children and families, school and church groups encouraged.

Wadswprth Atheneum Museum of Art.  Celebrate the season at the Annual Festival of Trees & Traditions! Established in 1973, Festival has become an annual holiday tradition for many visitors from throughout the state and beyond. Every year community members, artists and organizations are asked to decorate holiday trees and wreaths to be displayed in the galleries. All items are for sale, and profits help fund the museum’s special exhibitions, educational programs, and operating expenses. Special events take place throughout the festival.

The Great Mac & Chili Challenge
Westport, Connecticut
11:00am to 3:00pm.  Sherwood Island State Park.  Enjoy unlimited sampling of  20 different chili's and mac 'n cheese entries from great local restaurants.  Your vote will determines the best in four categories:  Beef Chili, Creative Chili and Classic Mac 'n Cheese and Creative Mac!.  Tickets are just $15 adults, $5 kids (6-12) can be bought online or at the door (cash or credit).
