A Taste of Colorado
Celebrating its 33rd year as the state’s largest free-admission outdoor event, A Taste of Colorado draws more than 500,000 visitors annually. Five entertainment stages include national, local, and ethnic music in a variety of genres, children’s performers, and much more. Festivalgoers also can try a variety of culinary delights from more than 50 of Colorado’s favorite food establishments, including a culinary showcase. Plus, visitors can enjoy the offerings of more than 275 marketplace artisans and vendors, as well as educational programs promoting the diverse cultural and Western heritage of the region. Festival of Mountain and Plain … A Taste of Colorado is a community celebration that is produced by and benefits Downtown Denver Events, Inc., the Downtown Denver Partnership family’s community events nonprofit organization. The Festival is an opportunity for people throughout the region to come together to experience and appreciate our diverse cultural traditions, and to learn more about our state’s Western heritage. The Festival highlights visual and performing arts in addition to featuring educational programs and culinary demonstrations.
September 3, 2016 Keystone’s Oktoberfest - Keystone, Colorado
Kicks up your heels and raise a stein with Colorado-brewed Oktoberfest beers, oompah bands and German fare that will make your mouth water! Kids will love the chicken dancing as well as free face painting, a bounce house and performances from the Edelweiss Polka Dancers. Parents will love the Colorado craft beers that draw from German roots. Track down some lederhosen and train up for the Das Bier Burner 5K that kicks off the day at 12pm. The trophy for crossing the finish line is a pint of Oktoberfest bier. As an added bonus the River Run Village stores and shops are getting in the spirit and having an Oktoberfest Tent Sale that day so treat yourself to an end of summer goodie from one of the many unique shops.

Volunteer firefighters from six mountain area fire districts will be the beneficiaries of the Annual Big Chili Cook-off. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. to live music, over 100 chilies, an art show, children’s area, and refreshments until 6 p.m. A firefighters’ challenge and tribute highlight the event.

You’ll learn techniques for sourcing, cooking, and serving wild sockeye year-round and get to meet with fishermen from Bristol Bay.
