71st Annual Plaquemines Parish Fair & Orange Festival
Buras, Louisiana
The Parish is a region of ecological wonder with its many waterways, fishing and hunting grounds, and the best Citrus in the Country. Experience wonderful food, entertainment, crafts and competitions including contests for citrus desserts, shrimp peeling, catfish skinning, oyster shucking, duck calling, orange eating and orange peeling. Annually, 1st full weekend of December.

December 2, 2017  Beignet Fest - New Orleans, Louisiana
Beignet Fest celebrates New Orleans’ most iconic dessert: the beignet. From traditional sweet treats to savory delicacies that feature seafood, cheese and more, Beignet Fest serves up the best beignets in the South. In true New Orleans tradition, Beignet Fest features a myriad of restaurant vendors; local and regional musical entertainment; and family-friendly activities in the Kid’s Village presented by Ochsner Hospital for Children.  Awards are given for best traditional, best sweet, best savory, and crowd-favorite beignets. Proceeds from Beignet Fest benefit the Tres Doux Foundation.

December 3-4, 2017  Saint Basil's International Food Festival
Metairie, Louisiana
Across Europe, the Middle East, Russia, and in many other countries, having a meal is an event filled with family, great food and wonderful conversation. St. Basil Antiochian Orthodox Church in Metairie is bringing back the tradition of breaking bread together. But instead of the traditional three-hour meal, the congregation wants to break bread for two days with music, dancing, and a celebration of cultures from around the world!

December 9, 2017  18th Annual Christmas on the Square Festival and Parade - Benton, Louisiana
Located in the charming town of Benton, Louisiana, a fun filled day is planned from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is something for everyone to enjoy featuring a 5k run and health walk, children's area, inflatables, face painting, crafts, children's art contest, Cookie & Candy Contest, photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus, live entertainment, children's archery, BB gun shooting, horseback rides, wildlife, heritage village exhibitors, arts & craft vendors, food court, Christmas parade and more. Free parking and shuttle service available at the Bossier Parish Court House on Benton Road and Burt Blvd. beginning at 9:30 am.

A worldwide celebration of local food held every year on December 10. Through hundreds of diverse and unique events across the globe, together we show that a global food revolution grows from local roots.

December 21-31, 2017  NOLA Christmasfest - New Orleans, Louisiana
New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  NOLA ChristmasFest, a dazzling, family-friendly seasonal event, offers another opportunity to get into the holiday spirit, with a real indoor ice skating rink and ice slides, a carousel and carnival rides, inflatables, Santa and Friends, gingerbread houses, decorated trees and more! Convenient parking nearby.
