The friendly little competition between Liberal, Kansas, and Olney, England, with women running down the streets of each town flipping pancakes, has been going on for more than 50 years now. It is still the only race of its kind on the planet. Eating & Flipping Contests, Recipe/Cooking Contest, Pancake Race, Receptions, Breakfasts, Parade, Entertainment, etc. (Last day & Race always Shrove Tuesday).

Over 70 teams are expected to compete for the State Championship and winners will advance to the International Chili Cookoff.  Enjoy live music, a pepper eating contest, Mr. Hot Stuff and Ms. Chili Pepper competitions and games and rides for the kids.  Public tasting begins promptly at noon.

The name and theme come from a time in Augusta's past when the town almost died after a plague of grasshoppers chewed every tree, shrub, crop and even the clothes on the line.

October 2-4, 2008  Kansas City Hog Wild BBQ Festival
Corinth, Mississippi
This competition “pits” some of the best cooking teams around in a tasty barbecue contest. The festival was once known as the Tri-State Fair features live entertainment and thrilling rides.
