Lawrence Sertoma 48 BBQ Cookoff
We call the Lawrence SERTOMA Cook-off the 48 Bar-B-Q because we limit the competition to 48 teams competing for $4,800 in 48 categories. It’s a BBQ Battle of professionals and amateur cooks to win dollar prizes and ribbons. The public is invited to sample meats prepared for judging in a separate "People's Choice" contest. The event has been sanctioned by KCBS. Our competition is a State Championship, so our Grand Champion winner gets to compete in the American Royal Cook-Off !
June 8, 2019 National Festival of Breads
Bread. BBQ… The perfect Saturday! The National Festival of Breads is a fun, FREE day for the whole family! Inside the ballroom will be baking demonstrations, eight finalists competing for the title of 2019 NFOB champion, a children’s area, bread samples, new recipes and much more! Outside at the Blue Earth Plaza you’ll find BBQ demonstrations and family friendly activities. For those who are interested in the bread baking competition, entries will be accepted for original yeast bread recipes at nationalfestivalofbreads.com. More information on the festival and competition can be found under the ‘Festival’ tab.
