May 10-11, 2013 15th Lawrence Sertoma 48 BBQ Cookoff Lawrence, Kansas We call the Lawrence SERTOMA Cook-off the 48 Bar-B-Q because we limit the competition to 48 teams competing for $4,800 in 48 categories. It’s a BBQ Battle of professionals and amateur cooks to win dollar prizes and ribbons. The public is invited to sample meats prepared for judging in a separate "People's Choice" contest. The event has been sanctioned by KCBS. Our competition is a State Championship, so our Grand Champion winner gets to compete in the American Royal Cook-Off !
