January 10-12, 2012 23rd Annual Topeka Farm Show - Topeka, Kansas Over 300 exhibiting companies, 550 booths and added attractions that include a Purebred Cattle Expo, Daily Horsemanship Clinics, and leadership seminar. Free parking, free admission, free health care programs and events for the entire family. Over 30,000 attendees each year. Attendance: 30,000.
February 21, 2012 International Pancake Day - Liberal, Kansas The friendly little competition between Liberal, Kansas, and Olney, England, with women running down the streets of each town flipping pancakes, has been going on for more than 50 years now. It is still the only race of its kind on the planet. Eating & Flipping Contests, Recipe/Cooking Contest, Pancake Race, Receptions, Breakfasts, Parade, Entertainment, etc. (Last day & Race is always Shrove Tuesday).
December 2-4, 2012 Gingerbread House Festival & Viewing 2012 - Lawrence, Kansas The annual Gingerbread House Festival and auction benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Douglas County. Local talent builds and donates amazing Gingerbread creations to be placed up for charity auction at an elegant seasonal gala.

May 7-8, 2011 Millfest 2011 - Lindsborg, Kansas Experience early Kansas flour milling at the Smokey Valley Roller Mill Museum's annual event. Tour the 100 year old mill in action and learn about farming the old-fashioned way as farmers use horse-drawn equipment to prepare a field for planting. Enjoy traditional craft demonstrations, music and dance.
June 23-25, 2011 National Festival of Breads & Baking Contest - Witchita, Kansas The National Festival of Breads is America's only amateur bread baking contest, celebrating the relationship between producer and consumer in a biennial contest. Entrants are encouraged to develop and share original recipes in what has become the nation's premier bread-baking competition. Selected finalists will attend the June 2011 festival in Wichita, Kansas, where recipes will be judged and awarded.
June 24-25, 2011 The Great Lenexa Barbeque Battle - Lenexa, Kansas The Great Lenexa Barbeque Battle started in 1982 with 12 contestants and 12 judges. On April 27, 1984, Governor John Carlin declared the contest the official Kansas State Championship. Since then, the contest has grown to its current size of 200 contestants and 240 judges.

September 24, 2011 Wichita Wagonmasters Downtown Chili CookOff - Wichita, Kansas Over 70 teams are expected to compete for the State Championship and winners will advance to the International Chili Cookoff. Enjoy live music, a pepper eating contest, Mr. Hot Stuff and Ms. Chili Pepper competitions and games and rides for the kids. Public tasting begins promptly at noon.
October 14-15, 2011 Lenexa Chili Challenge - Lenexa, Kansas More than 170 teams compete in two divisions: Chili Appreciation Society International (C.A.S.I.) and Home Style Chili. Contestants may also compete in the Salsa Division and hot wing contest.
October 21-22, 2011 Indigenous Food Festival - Lawrence, Kansas Haskell Indian Nations University's festival includes an indigenous food cooking contest, community potluck feast, speakers, a health fair and work sessions on Indigenous Food Sovereignty.
November 5, 2011 Cattlemen's Day - Eureka, Kansas For 84 years folks have joined together to celebrate Greenwood County's rich heritage in the cattle industry. Pancake breakfast, chili cookoff, parade, western art show, Cattlemen's banquet and ball.
November 8-10, 2011 Wichita Farm & Ranch Show - Valley Center, Kansas Now in its 18th year with over 265 exhibiting companies and 410 plus booths displaying the newest in farm & ranch equipment and technology. Special features of the show include daily livestock squeeze chute demonstrations, livestock handling demos, and educational seminars. Attendance: 25,000.
November 19, 2011 Pecan Fest - Chetopa, Kansas Pecan harvest demonstrations and cooking contest, arts and crafts, 5K run/walk, car show and entertainment.
November 19, 2011 St. Petka Serbian Food Festival & Bazaar - Kansas City, Kansas Hosted by the Serbian Sisters for over 30 years, this event includes traditional Serbian food, bazaar, live entertainment and dancing.

April 18, 2010 Chili Throwdown - Shawnee, Kansas Come sample the chili as cooks compete to win the $1K top-prize! Other activities include live music, beer garden, live animal display, bounce houses and kids' activities, a drawing for $1,000 and other fabulous prizes. Proceeds support the creation of a nature center in Shawnee, KS.
June 4, 2010 Grasshopper Festival - Augusta, Kansas A Bar-B-Que dinner (hotdogs, hot links, hamburgers and bratwurst too), complete with ice cream, will be served and no one will be disapointed. This years Festival will be bigger and better! More live (and different types) of music - more great activities for the little ones. The name and theme come from a time in Augusta's past when the town almost died after a plague of grasshoppers chewed every tree, shrub, crop and even the clothes on the line.
August 14, 2010 Taste of Wichita - Wichita, Kansas Local restaurants will line ‘Restaurant Row’ as they serve up their signature dishes. Local musicians will entertain throughout the day. The Art & Wine Walk will include hundreds of pieces of art by local artists.
