September 3, 2016 45th Annual St. William Seafood Festival
Civitan Park, on the shores of Lake Gunersville. Hosted by St William Catholic Church. Creole-style file' gumbo, Cajun boiled shrimp, fresh crawfish, bbq chicken and fish dinners, hushpuppies and slaw. Began in 1970, the festival has been the primary fundraiser for the church throughout the years. Not only is the freshly prepared food a favorite in the local communities, but also to people coming as far away as Tennessee and Georgia.
September 4-5, 2016 20th Annual Sweet Tater Festival
The annual festival will offer arts, crafts, games, food, door prizes, live entertainment and plenty of sweet taters.
September 5, 2016 - Ider Mule Days - Ider, Alabama
This annual event showcases Sand Mountain’s rich agricultural heritage. Enjoy a parade of mules, horses, carriages, antique tractors and more. A horse pull, mule pull, antique tractors and cars, arts and crafts, food, children’s games, and so much more make this day one you won’t want to miss. September 15, 2016 The Taste of the South - Atmore, Alabama
This event held in a park setting is an evening of entertainment and food prepared by businesses, groups/organizations and individuals. It is known for showcasing some of Atmore's best chefs and cooks!
September 15-17, 2016 The Wharf Uncorked - Orange Beach, Alabama
Join us for the annual The Wharf Uncorked Wine and Culinary Event at The Wharf in Orange Beach. The three day event combines tastings of delicious food and tantalizing wines, live entertainment, a pinch of southern flare and a dash of Gulf Coast hospitality. This event will raise funds for Make-A-Wish Alabama – an organization devoted to granting wishes to Alabama children with life-threatening medication conditions. Help us make wishes come true for Alabama kids!
September 20-25, 2016 North Alabama State Fair
Muscle Shoals, Alabama
The North Alabama State Fair is best described as a family-oriented community event. Agricultural, industrial, cultural, and commercial exhibits are on display. The North Alabama State Fair is operated for the benefit of the community. A major portion of the money spent at the North Alabama State Fair remains in the community. Profits above operation expenses and capital expenditures are donated to charitable organizations. Board members receive no compensation.
September 23-24, 2016 42nd Annual Winfield Mule Day Festival
The tradition was begun in 1975 to honor the hard working mules of the day. Mule Day has grown into a major event not only for the City of Winfield but also for the State of Alabama. Drawing crowds of over 25,000 each year; Mule Day features a variety of activities that appeal to any palate. The keynote event is a the Mule Day parade through the downtown of the city, but there is also live entertainment, car and tractor show, garden tractor pull, flea market, mule judging, arts and crafts, horseshoe tournament, and a carnival. Attendance: 25,000.
September 23-25, 2016 PorktoberQue - Dothan, Alabama
'Jurassic Pork' - Oktoberfest meets Barbecue Competition in lower Alabama. KCBS sanctioned BBQ competition. Spectators enjoy live music, country and rock bands, an indoor Biergarten, outdoor 'man cave' and loads of shopping opportunities. Barbecue and Bratwurst dominate the food menus from regional vendors, and beer is available in several areas. Kids welcome, many kids activities available.
September 24, 2016 Taste of the Bayou - Irvington, Alabama
Held at the Bayou La Batre Community Center, this seafood-tasting event features 30-plus booths with succulent dishes prepared by local and professional chefs.
September 24, 2016 7th Annual Peanut Boil Festival

Fort Payne, Alabama
Known for its tradition of excellence, it has been voted the state’s top agricultural fair for many years. This event has vast community participation and features exhibits of handmade crafts, canned foods, photography, drawings, flower arrangements, quilts, as well as live animals such as cattle and chickens. Midway with rides for all ages; Live Music nightly. The vendors feature your fair favorites including funnel cakes, caramel apples, corn dogs, and cotton candy.
September 30-October 1, 2016 Alabama Butterbean Festival
Experience two relaxing, fun filled days with endless family activities...in a "Mayberry" setting! Miss Butterbean Pageant (including Mr. & Mrs. Dry Butterbean- for senior adults), butterbean and other food vendors, arts & crafts booths, live entertainment, dog pageant and fireworks.
September 11-12, 2015 - 21st Annual Riverfest Barbecue Cook-off
An official State Barbecue Championship competition. The cook-off is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, a national organization. The Grand Champion winner of Riverfest automatically qualifies for the American Royal World Championship Barbecue Cook-off in Kansas City, Missouri, and is entered into the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational drawing. Riverfest features more than 70 professional and amateur BBQ cooking teams from across the United States competing for prize money and trophies totaling $20,000. Along with the barbecue competition, the festival includes food vendors, live music and children's activities. Proceeds from Riverfest will benefit charities in Decatur and Morgan County.
