Usually held the last full weekend in April. Gates open 9:00 a.m. Children's toss at 10:00 a.m. Adults at noon. Fun, food and frivolity on the beach with other activities for the weekend including a bikini contest, a keg toss and tug of war.

Teams will compete in a barbeque cook-off for the title of Grand Champion and their team being listed as sponsor for an upcoming Habitat home. All proceeds go toward the funding of Habitat for Humanity’s housing programs. The event will feature live music by local band, great food and fun for all.

The Lawrence County Arts Council has announced the Chicken and Egg Festival has ended its run after nine years and has been discontinued. It became too large an event for the council to handle (20,000 people each year).
