May 4-5, 2018 - Whistle Stop BBQ Weekend - Huntsville, Alabama
Come have a toe-tappin, barbeque-eatin' good time. BBQ competitions, Chili Championships, music and more. All proceeds benefit EarlyWorks Children's Museum & educational programs for area children.

May 18-19, 2018 - 34th Annual Poke Salat Festival
Arab, Alabama
Named for the wild Pokeweed and the German word for "salad", the festival will offer an ice cream eating contest, a variety of food, crafts, and live music.

May 19, 2018 - Daylily Art & Garden Festival
Headland, Alabama
Headland's newest event is an expansion of one of it's oldest. The Daylily Art & Garden Festival is the third Saturday in May and features an art show inside the park of Headland’s beautiful downtown square with farmer’s market and garden-related vendors situated on the perimeter. Entertainment in the gazebo, children’s art and gardening activities and gardening demonstrations round out the day's activities. Local daylily growers offer garden tours nearby thoughout the day.

A great hometown festival including a catfish tournament for adults, catfish rodeo for children, arts and crafts show, car show, and free concerts.

May 4, 2013  Schaeffer Crawfish Boil - Schaeffer, Alabama
An outdoor music and crawfish festival that originated to raise money for certain charities and benefits throughout the Birmingham area. The event has become a summer favorite for Alabama residents. Along with tons of food and fun, the Schaeffer Eye Center Crawfish Boil now brings some of the biggest acts in music to Birmingham.
