May 2-3, 2014 Whistle Stop BBQ Weekend
Come have a toe-tappin, barbeque-eatin' good time. BBQ competitions, music and more. All proceeds benefit EarlyWorks Children's Museum & educational programs for area children.
May 16-17, 2014 30th Annual Poke Salat Festival
Named for the wild Pokeweed and the German word for "salad", the festival will offer an ice cream eating contest, a variety of food, crafts, and live music.
May 16-17, 2014 Cotton Pickin’ BBQ Cook-Off - Hartselle, Alabama
A KCBS sanctioned event that takes place on the third Friday and Saturday of May. Professional and Backyard cook teams fill historic downtown Hartselle with the aroma of competition barbecue. An Alabama Championship event which enables the Alabama teams to earn points for the coveted Governors Cup. If you have a desire to taste this wonderful barbecue, join us on Saturday for the People’s Choice event where for a small fee you can sample the competition “que” and vote for your favorite. The People’s Choice award is presented at the awards presentation at the end of the competition.

Wing Ding is a chance to come together and celebrate our great community while helping out a worthy cause, the fight against Cystic Fibrosis. June 6-7, 2014 Magic City Brewfest - Birmingham, Alabama
Magic City Brewfest is a weekend dedicated to learning about craft beer and sampling the best that Alabama has to offer. There will be 200+ individual beers available including many rare, specialty and cask ales which have never been seen before in Alabama (and may never be seen again).
June 14, 2014 Festivals on the Square - Headland, Alabama
By joining the Daylily Festival and the Blueberry Festival Headland, residents and visitors will have the best of both festivals tied into one huge event – Festivals on the Square. Three big contests are planned for the Festivals on the Square - Daylily Contest, Blueberry Recipe Contest and the Blueberry Pie-Eating Contest. All are open to the public and to all ages.

Join in as Chilton County celebrates Alabama peaches. Pageants and tournaments are held throughout the week, along with the "peach run," art exhibitions, a cook-off, fishing tournament, live music, parades, live and silent auctions, barbecue and much more.
