Terra Madre Day - Worldwide
A worldwide celebration of local food held every year on December 10. Through hundreds of diverse and unique events across the globe, together we show that a global food revolution grows from local roots.

November 30-December 3, 2016  Christmas On the River & Alabama State Barbeque Cookoff - Demopolis, Alabama
BBQ Cookoff, Parade, Dance, Fireworks, and Jingle Bell Run held in "Demopolis, the city of the people where two rivers meet".
Attendance: 30,000.

December 31, 2016 - Mobile New Year’s MoonPie Drop
Mobile, Alabama
Watch the 600-pound electronic MoonPie descend from atop the RSA Building at the stroke of midnight. New Year's Eve parade, live entertainment, light show and fireworks.

December 31, 2016 - Flora-Bama New Year's Eve Bash
Orange Beach, Alabama
The Flora-Bama really gets down on New Year’s Eve. Blow it all out before making those pesky resolutions. Live music on all three stages will be rockin’ until the party stops. Food, party favors, and champagne flow all night help bring in the New Year the Flora-Bama way. You won't regret it.  Our New Year's Eve Bash starts at 7pm!   Tickets are available at the door (in the gift shop): 21+ $40 -  18-20ys $50.  ***18-20yr will be charged $10 at the door if you bought a $35 ticket in advance.

December 4-5, 2014  Fruitcake Festival - Monroeville, Alabama
Monroe County Heritage Museum will host the 5th Annual Fruitcake Festival, inspired by Truman Capote’s heart-warming Christmas Stories. Locally made fruitcakes, in specially designed tins, will be for sale all day Friday. A special theatrical performance brings Capote's stories to life at 7:00 pm Thursday and Friday in the world-famous courtroom of the Old Courthouse Museum. Tickets to the event are $10 and include a holiday reception … with fruitcake, of course!
