Young Cattlemen's Conference
Chicago, Illinois
The primary objective is to develop leadership qualities in young cattlemen and women and expose them to all aspects of the beef industry. The tour will begin in Denver with a comprehensive overview of the industry. Chicago is the next destination, where the group will visit the Chicago Board of Trade. The participants will then travel to the nation’s Capitol, where they will meet with their respective congressmen and senators.

June 2-5, 2016  75th Harvard Milk Days 2016 - Harvard, Illinois
Milk Days has grown from a small hay wagon stage with street dancing to a week of 30 plus different events, attended by thousands of people

June 3-4, 2016 - 25th Annual Rhubarb Fest - Aledo, Illinois
This unique festival will feature more than 3,000 homemade Rhubarb Pies for sale, Rhubarb Sampling, 12,000 free Rhubarb seeds given away, crafts, music, entertainment and more all set in our historic downtown.  We're so serious about our Rhubarb that Governor Pat Quinn officially named Aledo the Rhubarb Capital of Illinois.

June 3-5, 2016  Taste of Little Village: Flavors of Mexico
Chicago, Illinois
Chicago has a global reputation for its top Michelin and Zagat-rated restaurants. Perhaps because of the huge Mexican population, Mexican cuisine ranks high on the list of Zagat Chicago favorites. No matter how you slice it, the fact remains: Chicagoans are absolutely crazy for Mexican food.  Authentic Mexican food is the event's main focus. The cities' and the regions' award winning Mexican restaurants and chefs will set up outdoor kitchens in the events Restaurant Row and serve up small plates of their signature dishes for bargain prices. The culinary emphasis in Restaurant Row is authenticity.  The event features three stages: a Main Stage with big entertainment, a Culinary Stage where participating chefs will demonstrate recipes and compete for Top Chef award, and a Showcase Stage where dance troupes, orchestras and brass bands from area high schools or colleges perform.

The Council for Working Women invites you to attend an evening of wine tasting, food, designer purses, networking and fun!  Proceeds help support the CWW and its scholarship fund to assist working or recently unemployed women seeking to advance in their business field, begin a new career or re-enter the workforce.

June 26-28, 2015  Long Grove Strawberry Festival - Long Grove, Illinois
This is the granddaddy of Long Grove's signature festivals, drawing close to 50,000 visitors to the historic business district for the 3-day event. It is considered one of the premier outdoor festivals in the Chicagoland area. The pleasures of summer are celebrated with "berry wonderful" strawberry inspired treats.

Eat, Write, Retreat is an intensive learning weekend focused on strengthening connections within the food community through a shared exploration of cooking, writing and photography.

June 7-10, 2013  12th Annual Heritage Tractor Adventure
LaSalle County, Illinois   (website no longer active)
An adventure with a three-day tractor ride…combining vintage farm tractors and displays with a historic ride, entertainment, great food, and camaraderie. WGN-720 AM's own Farm Reporter, Max Armstrong, an avid collector himself, will be setting off on the adventure with you. His knowledge of the Midwest farming community, and passion for vintage tractors, makes this an event worth your while. Your tractor must have rubber tires and be able to travel at least 6 miles per hour and be over 30 years old.

June 15-16, 2013  SausageFest Chicago - Chicago, Illinois
It's all about encased meat treats at this tasty and tantalizing fest held adjacent to iconic Wrigley Field. Returning to the Lake View neighborhood for its second year, SausageFest vendors will include several of the Windy City's best-known butcher/meat shops and restaurants.  There's also arts & crafts, and back again will be an eclectic music lineup to make it the perfect early summer fest for lovers of food and tunes.

The annual Chicago Caribbean JerkFest will be a festive celebration of Caribbean culture.

June 9-10, 2012  Chill & Grill Festival - Chicago, Illinois
Better Homes and Gardens and Weber's Chill and Grill Festival  This exciting culinary event puts grilling center stage with recipe tastings from local restaurants, celebrity chef demonstrations, hands-on grilling classes, a relaxing Chill Zone Lounge, live music, activities for kids and much more. Guy Fieri, the New York Times best-selling cookbook author and host of the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, will headline the Chill and Grill festival with a crowd pleasing grilling demonstration on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm on the Main Stage. Guy will be joined at the festival by numerous other celebrity chefs and food experts including Jamie Purviance, Stephanie Izard, Adam Perry Lang, Domenica Catelli, The Hearty Boys and many others.

June 16-17, 2012  Chicago Pizza Fest - Chicago, Illinois
Pizza Fest Chicago has one major focus: pizza, pizza ... and more pizza! In addition to pizza vendors galore, other weekend highlights will include a great live music stage lineup. There will also be a "Chicago's best pizza" contest where Chicago's best pizzerias will be invited to submit their entries for the city's best Deep Dish, Gourmet, and Neopolitan-- all to be judged by panels of pizza enthusiasts, Chicago celebrities, and native Chicagoans.
