Chicago, Illinois
Chicago has a global reputation for its top Michelin and Zagat-rated restaurants. Perhaps because of the huge Mexican population, Mexican cuisine ranks high on the list of Zagat Chicago favorites. No matter how you slice it, the fact remains: Chicagoans are absolutely crazy for Mexican food.    Authentic Mexican food is the event's main focus. The cities' and the regions' award winning Mexican restaurants and chefs will set up outdoor kitchens in the events Restaurant Row and serve up small plates of their signature dishes for bargain prices. The culinary emphasis in Restaurant Row is authenticity.    The event features three stages: a Main Stage with big entertainment, a Culinary Stage where participating chefs will demonstrate recipes and compete for Top Chef award, and a Showcase Stage where dance troupes, orchestras and brass bands from area high schools or colleges perform.

Chicago Celebrates 20 Years of Ribfest Chicago; Chicago’s Largest Cookout is Still Smoke-King!  Over the years, the BBQ and culinary component has grown from five local restaurants to an incredible thirty rib and non-rib vendors. Meanwhile, with performances by top-tier Chicago talent and premier touring bands, Ribfest Chicago has become an internationally recognized all-original music festival:  50,000 Fans; 50,000 Pounds of BBQ; and 25 Hours of Hot Original Music.  Attendance: 50,000.

June 9, 2018 - Uncork Urbana Wine Festival - Urbana, Illinois
Uncork Urbana Wine Festival is a brand-new festival coming to downtown Urbana in June. Celebrating the diverse and delicious wines that the state of Illinois has to offer, Uncork Urbana is the chance for wine-lovers in the area to come together and enjoy an afternoon/evening of wine, music, food, and arts.  Vineyards and wineries from all over Illinois will sell wine by the tasting glass, and by the bottle.

June 9-10, 2018  Burgers, Brews & Blues Fest - Bolingbrook, Illinois
It’s a trifecta of good food, craft beers and cool tunes when the upscale Promenade Bolingbrook shopping mecca in the southwest suburb hosts it inaugural Burgers, Brews & Blues Fest to help welcome the forthcoming  official start of summer.  For starters, area restaurants will be serving up savory patties with exotic toppings along with tasty sides. Then there’s the down-home sounds of Midwest blues acts, plus  activities for kids and families.

June 20, 2018  Flavors of Albany Park - Chicago, Illinois
Calling all foodies! Chicagoans “in the know” will head to Albany Park to attend Flavors of Albany Park and walk from restaurant to restaurant, sample to sample, to explore a world of flavors from 6 PM to 9 PM.  More than two dozen businesses will serve sample-size portions of a signature menu item. With two different food routes, attendees choose one corridor to explore along Kedzie, Lawrence, and/or Montrose Avenues.  Attendees will also enjoy a variety of entertainment throughout the evening, including live music and performances by the American Indian Center and Dovetail Dance Studio. There will be an event after-party at 9pm at Surge Coffee Bar + Billiards for attendees to continue the fun over billiards, cash bar, and a DJ.  Advance ticket pricing: $30 adults, $15 kids (12 and under), $20 seniors (60+), and $20 students (with valid ID). All tickets purchased day-of the event, at registration, are an additional $5 per ticket.

June 22-24, 2018  Long Grove Strawberry Festival - Long Grove, Illinois
This is the granddaddy of Long Grove's signature festivals, drawing close to 50,000 visitors to the historic business district for the 3-day event. It is considered one of the premier outdoor festivals in the Chicagoland area. The pleasures of summer are celebrated with "berry wonderful" strawberry inspired treats.  Attendance: 50,000.

June 26-27, 2018  United Fresh - Chicago, Illinois
United Fresh Produce Association Show.  Produce industry leaders will gather for our annual convention and exposition featuring our annual trade show, general sessions and market segment specific education. In addition, our trade show will feature innovative fresh produce marketers and industry leading tools and technology for the fresh produce processing and packing industries, as well as a food safety pavilion featuring industry salutations and our popular business suites for driving valuable conversations right on the show floor

June 7-10, 2013  12th Annual Heritage Tractor Adventure
LaSalle County, Illinois   (website no longer active)
An adventure with a three-day tractor ride…combining vintage farm tractors and displays with a historic ride, entertainment, great food, and camaraderie. WGN-720 AM's own Farm Reporter, Max Armstrong, an avid collector himself, will be setting off on the adventure with you. His knowledge of the Midwest farming community, and passion for vintage tractors, makes this an event worth your while. Your tractor must have rubber tires and be able to travel at least 6 miles per hour and be over 30 years old.

June 15-16, 2013  SausageFest Chicago - Chicago, Illinois
It's all about encased meat treats at this tasty and tantalizing fest held adjacent to iconic Wrigley Field. Returning to the Lake View neighborhood for its second year, SausageFest vendors will include several of the Windy City's best-known butcher/meat shops and restaurants.  There's also arts & crafts, and back again will be an eclectic music lineup to make it the perfect early summer fest for lovers of food and tunes.

June 9-10, 2012  Chill & Grill Festival - Chicago, Illinois
Better Homes and Gardens and Weber's Chill and Grill Festival  This exciting culinary event puts grilling center stage with recipe tastings from local restaurants, celebrity chef demonstrations, hands-on grilling classes, a relaxing Chill Zone Lounge, live music, activities for kids and much more. Guy Fieri, the New York Times best-selling cookbook author and host of the Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, will headline the Chill and Grill festival with a crowd pleasing grilling demonstration on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 pm on the Main Stage. Guy will be joined at the festival by numerous other celebrity chefs and food experts including Jamie Purviance, Stephanie Izard, Adam Perry Lang, Domenica Catelli, The Hearty Boys and many others.
