August 1-31, 2019 - August is Maine Lobster Month - Statewide, Maine
As a result of Maine's successful lobster conservation effort, the state has hit record harvest levels for the last three years.  So in July 2012 Maine Governor Paul LePage signed a proclamation declaring August "Maine Lobster Month".

August 2-3, 2019  37th Annual Blueberry Festival - Wilton, Maine
Pick your own blueberries! Food for sale at local church bazaars including blueberry muffins, cake, and pies. Blueberry cookoff and chili tasting contest. Parade, blacksmithing event, fire truck rides, boat tours, music and fireworks.

August 6-11, 2019  165th Topsham Fair - Topsham, Maine
At the Topsham Fair, our goal is to celebrate Maine's thriving agriculture.  When you're looking for fun things to do in Topsham, Maine, consider making a stop at the fair for your entertainment. Topsham Fair has all the bells and whistles, from harness racing and truck pulling to the demolition derby.

August 8-17, 2019  Skowhegan State Fair - Skowhegan, Maine
The Nations oldest Consecutively Running Agricultural Fair (since 1819).  Exhibition Halls, Livestock Shows, Horse & Tractor Pulling, Barrel Racing, Doodlebug Pulling, Muttin Bustin, Midway, Commercial Hall Vendors, Crafters, etc.... we've got it all.

August 9-11, 2019  Ploye Festival & Fort Kent International Muskie Derby - Fort Kent, Maine
Every August the Greater Area Fort Kent Chamber of Commerce has held a Ploye Festival in conjunction with the area businesses holding a Muskie Derby. During this weekend, it’s all about Ployes and Muskies. (A Ploye is an Acadian buckwheat pancake.  One of the featured events is the making of the worlds largest ploye. This event attracts hundreds of spectators, making it the highlight of the Ploye Festival.  The massive ploye, which thus far, measures 12 feet in diameter, can only be accomplished with the help of friends and family of Bouchard Family Farm, producers or the ploye mix.  Other events are usually the ploye eating contest, ploye wrestling contest, and craft show. There are also ployes being sold by local organizations on the street.


August 10, 2019 - Maine Red Hot Dog Festival - Dexter, Maine
The Maine Red Hot Dog Festival is a DRC fundraiser designed to attract a large number of people to the town where they will see all that Dexter has to offer, and to simply have fun!

August 10, 2019  55th Annual Winter Harbor Lobster Festival
Winter Harbor, Maine
A fun filled day with many events--a Maine blueberry pancake breakfast, the ever popular lobster boat races with 13 classes rated by size and power, a craft fair with 80+ exhibitors, lobster dinners and a parade down Main Street.

August 16-18, 2019  Machias Wild Blueberry Festival - Machias, Maine
The Down East region of Maine produces nearly 85% of the world's blueberries. The annual Wild Blueberry Festival celebrates the blueberry with a Main Street parade, fabulous food, crafts and fine art by regional artists, live music, and activities for the children. Bring the whole family!

A large family fair famous for the annual State of Maine Wild Blueberry Festival. Large midway, crafts, animal pull events, harness racing.

August 21-22, 2019  Maine Farm Days - Clinton, Maine
An agricultural trade show, held on a working dairy farm in Maine.  Visit a farm and see what farm life is all about. Watch farm activities and demonstrations from milking to felting; pet farm animals, pick berries, tour a barn or go on a hay ride. There will be farm-raised products for sale, displays to see and samples to taste.

August 31-Sept 1, 2019  32nd Annual Eastport Salmon and Seafood Festival - Eastport, Maine
Held annually on Labor Day weekend, the festival celebrates the fishing industry of years past as well as the Atlantic salmon aquaculture industry of today.
