November 11-12, 2016 7th Annual Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-Off
Experience a rare, up-close look at Western history at this FREE, family friendly culinary event. Using historic cooking methods, authentic 1880s chuck wagons from around the Southwest compete to cook up the best meals fit for the trail.
Wagon teams win prizes in various food categories, and the public can purchase these unique chuck wagon meals. Enjoy a Campfire Glow, live music, Western history and cooking demonstrations, and much more! Event supports the educational development of Tumbleweed Ranch.

7th Arizona Wine Growers Grand Wine Festival
Formerly “Festival at the Farm,” The Grand Tasting & Marketplace celebrates the best in Arizona’s four wine growing regions. More than 1,000 dedicated wine lovers from across the state will be here when the Arizona Wine Growers Association presents its 7th annual Arizona Grand Awards Presented by The Arizona Republic and the Grand Tasting & Marketplace. These two events celebrate the growth and excellence of Arizona’s wine industry, which fosters economic development and drives destination tourism throughout the state. The Grand Awards Gala announces Arizona’s best wines. The Grand Tasting & Marketplace provides wine lovers first-hand opportunities to enjoy the fruits of the vine from more than 30 wineries pouring from over 100 selections of wine, assembling more wineries than at any other festival statewide.

December 31, 2015 The Great Pinecone Drop - Flagstaff, Arizona
As Flagstaff’s traditional New Year’s Eve symbol for 16 years, the Great Pinecone hoisted atop the historic Weatherford Hotel is to Flagstaff what the glitzy giant ball is to New York City. Each year thousands of holiday revelers pour into the streets of historic downtown to see the 70-pound, six-foot, lighted aluminum creation. During the celebration there will be two countdowns and pinecone lowerings: one at 10 p.m. to coincide with New York’s Times Square celebration and another at midnight to mark Arizona’s magical moment. Local personality Joe Harting will lead the crowd in song and countdown as the Weatherford Hotel dazzles with a light show and the City of Flagstaff illuminates the sky with fireworks. The Great Pinecone Drop event is free and appropriate for all ages.

Ventana Canyon Resort, 6pm. The City’s Best Desserts Unveiled at the annual Sweet Charity Dessert Challenge. Sweet Charity will create a parfait of more than 50 artisan desserts with cocktail, beer and wine samplings, a silent auction, merchant specials and entertainment – all to raise dough for arts therapy and education. The best of the glazed, iced, sprinkled and drizzled will be judged by attendees in an all People’s Choice competition.
