The Verde Valley of central Arizona has the best sweet corn you have ever tasted! The Camp Verde Cornfest started in 1991 as a way to not only feature our wonderful corn, but to have fun with our friends and neighbors at the height of the corn season and the summer.  We always begin on Friday at 3pm with activities for all ages, music, vendors and, of course, hot, roasted, buttered sweet corn. We will also sell uncooked corn by the dozen.  Saturday is a full day with more delicious corn and even more to do.

August 20, 2016  Southern Arizona Salsa & Tequila Challenge
Tucson, Arizona
The Southern Arizona Salsa and Tequila Challenge has shaken up the summers in Tucson forover 4 years, bringing the region’s cultural garden to modern day tastes buds.


The culinary event brings up to 50 chefs and restaurants preparing unique salsa recipes and mixologists creating innovative tequila-based drinks along with sweet and savory menu pairings. Proceeds benefit the Food Bank of Southern Arizona and SAACA’s arts therapy and education programs.

August 20-21, 2016  25th Annual El Zaribah CornFest and Arts & Craft Show - Phoenix, Arizona
Free Admission.  Delicious Meal of HOT Sweet Corn on the Cob with Hamburger or Hot Dog , plus Beans.  Food Tickets: Adults $9 in advance, $10 at the door.  Kids under 8 $6 in advance & at the door.  Sweet Corn for Sale $6 for 1/2 doz., $12 for a Baker’s doz.  Arts & Crafts Festival; 60+ Vendors on site in comfortable air conditioning.  Clowns for the Kids; Face painting; Balloon animals.

August 20-21, 2016  5th Annual Prickly Pear Festival - Superior, Arizona
Visitors to the festival will learn to identify the most edible of the hundreds of prickly pears in the state, gather and prepare the luscious purple fruit and the nutritious green pads. Experts will guide visitors in how to turn the pears into tasty salads, entrees and desserts, brew a light melony pale ale and make wine and mead from the fruit.

August 27-28, 2016 - Apple Harvest Celebration - Willcox, Arizona
Apples? In Arizona? Actually, Southeastern Arizona’s elevation is ideal for orchards. Each year Apple Annie’s Orchard & Produce in Willcox hosts a harvest celebration, when you can pick apples, fill up on pancakes doused in cider syrup, hop on a hayride or opt for peaches and pears, which are also ripe then.  August 27-28; Sept 3-5 & 10-11.

July 10-11, 2015  5th Annual Ace in the Hole BBQ Cookoff
Holbrook, Arizona
Whiskey Ranch Pro BBQ Series will be teaming up with the City of Holbrook and Old West Days again. Competitions will be held in the Kansas City BBQ Society categories Chicken, Ribs, Pork & Brisket. This event is supporting some great charities, so please come out and have a good time!

July 25 & August 1, 2015  Coronado Vineyards Peaches and Jam
Willcox, Arizona
Free Admission.  Complementary tasting of Peches au vin (Apple Annie’s peaches in Cabernet).  Live music on Saturday, complementary tasting of Peches au vin both Saturday and Sunday.

August 1-2 & 29-30, 2015  Prickly Pear Cactus Fruit Classes
Superior, Arizona
Boyce Thompson Arboretum.  Informal one-hour workshop teaches participants ways to pick, prepare, process and preserve these juicy, seasonal fruits of the Sonoran Desert -- with innovative and tasty prickly pear snacks shared at the end of each class, included in admission, $4.50
