October 1, 2011 North Manchester Harvest Festival - North Manchester, Indiana Food vendors, craft vendors, horse-drawn wagon rides, cow-milking contest, petting zoo, pumpkin painting, farmers' market, mum sale, pony rides and hayrides.
October 1-2, 2011 26th Annual Apple Festival of Kendallville - Kendallville, Indiana Music, food, Civil War re-enactment, puppets, storytelling, dancers, sheep shearing and other demonstrations, 85 craft booths, and "all things apple". A great family event.
October 3-8, 2011 90th Annual West Side Nut Club Fall Festival - Evansville, Indiana This is a week-long gala with over 130 food booths sponsored by non-profit groups, free entertainment, carnival, talent competition, and a huge parade. The event attracts over 200,000 people to the West Side and is considered to be one of the largest street festivals in the U.S.
October 7-8, 2011 Ethnic Expo - Columbus, Indiana Festivities are held outdoors. Two stages for entertainment and several tents for dining. The festival has authentic ethnic food booths, cultural exhibits, live performances of international music and dancing, a ethnic bazaar, parade, special entertainment for children. Attendance: 35,000.
