Week of Chocolate
The Week of Chocolate (WOC) is a week-long community-wide festival that takes place at the end of January. It has been in existence for over 10 years! Every day of the week a different nonprofit organization hosts a chocolate themed fundraising event to raise money in support of their mission. All funds raised at each event go directly to the agency putting on the event.
February 13, 2016 The Art of Chocolate - Bloomington, Indiana
LIFEDesigns annual fundraising event, offers a romantic evening full of art, chocolate, culture and creativity! A tasting hour from 6-7:00 pm is full of decadent and delicious samples from local chefs as well as beverages from Oliver Winery and Function Brewery. Featured food vendors this year include Cynthia Moriarty, Zeitgeist, STIR-Mobile Coffee, Peacetree Mountain Truffles, Bea’s Soda Bar, IMU, and C3. During the tasting hour explore locally crafted gifts, products, and more in the online auction. The tasting hour will be followed by a full dinner provided by One World Catering. The dinner will be a special treat chosen for this event by Executive Chef Corbin Morwick. During dinner be ready to bid on your favorite piece of art of vacation destination!

Bendix Woods County Park, New Carlisle, Indiana
Grab your braces & bits; it’s time to tap! Volunteers are needed to tap trees and get the Bendix Woods’ sugar bush ready for making maple syrup! Bring a hammer and a brace with a 5/16” bit (if available). This activity is outdoors, so dress for the weather.
February 27-28, 2016 Parke County Maple Syrup Fair
Parke County, Indiana
At winter’s end, Parke County’s Maple Syrup Producers begin tapping the maple trees that provide sugar water for making maple syrup. Join in on the two weekends of fun at the Parke County Maple Fair. Travel country roads with world famous covered bridges and tour maple syrup camps throughout the county. See how maple syrup is made down at the "sugar camp" and sample its wonderful flavor.
March 5-6, 2016 National Maple Syrup Festival
Brown County, Indiana
The National Maple Syrup Festival will celebrate its second year in Brown County, and will feature tree tapping, sap boiling, incredible foods and unique drinks using maple syrup as an ingredient. In 2016, the focus will move to Brown County State Park. While the Festival continues in venues around Brown County, the 2016 event will appeal more to outdoor lovers, those looking for relief from cabin fever and families looking for fun.

March 8, 2013 Maple Syrup by Moonlight
Bendix Woods Park, New Carlisle, Indiana
Take a guided twilight stroll through the sugar bush, learn how to tap a tree by lantern light and observe maple syrup being made (weather permitting). Then, enjoy a hot beverage and dessert made with pure maple syrup while warming in the shelter. Registration and payment are required by March 4.
