TERIYAKI CHICKEN

16-20 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Marinating Time: 1 hour
Cook Time: 16 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour 26 minutes

MARINADE:
3 cups soy sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry or white wine
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup granulated sugar
6 green onions (both green and white parts), finely chopped
2/3 cup finely chopped fresh ginger
1/4 cup finely chopped garlic cloves

CHICKEN:
1 package (1 1/4 pounds) Gold'n Plump Boneless Skinless Split Breasts*

Directions
Combine the marinade ingredients in a medium saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from the heat and let cool.

Transfer the marinade to a covered glass, stainless steel, or plastic container and refrigerate overnight. Then, use a fine sieve to strain; discard the solids.**

To marinate the chicken, place one package (1 1/4 pounds) Gold'n Plump® Boneless Skinless Split Breasts and 3/4 cup of the liquid marinade in a zip-seal plastic bag. Place bag in the refrigerator to marinate for 1 to 4 hours; turn the bag occasionally to coat the chicken.

When you are ready to cook, prepare the grill for high, direct heat and grill the chicken breasts for 6 to 8 minutes per side or until thoroughly cooked. Position the grill rack about 6 inches above the coals or heat source.

Drain the marinated chicken well before grilling. Discard the marinade. (Do not reuse a marinade or use it as a sauce for the cooked chicken.)

Grill the chicken drumsticks for 8 to 9 minutes per side or until thoroughly cooked.

*One package (20 ounces) Gold'n Plump® Chicken Drumsticks can be substituted for the boneless skinless split breasts. Prepare the grill for indirect high heat, and grill the drumsticks for 8 to 9 minutes per side or until thoroughly cooked.

**Unused marinade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks in a tightly sealed glass, stainless steel or plastic container.
