A different theme for each quarterly contest. Recipes must use one or more Bays English Muffins, serve 4-6 people and use no more than 8 ingredients (not including Bays English Muffins, water, salt and pepper). Recipes judged on the basis of taste, appearance, imagination, practicality, appropriateness for an English muffin, and fit with the quarterly theme. - “You Got Boxed” Video Contest - Deadline: November 30, 2009
Black Box Wines is launching the “You Got Boxed” contest to challenge its fans to let their friends in on a secret they have known for some time – quality wines can come from a box. How to Box Your Guests Boxing your friends and family is easy. Simply host a dinner party, wine tasting or other gathering and serve boxed wine without revealing the package. As the party nears completion, surprise the crowd by showing them that they’ve been enjoying boxed wine and be sure to get their reaction on video. Amateur cooks across the country are invited to put their culinary skills to the test by submitting their favorite original recipe paired with Rνas Baixas Albariρo Wines for this year’s fourth annual Recipe Pairing Contest. Entries must be your original recipes paired with an Albariρo wine from Rνas Baixas. The recipe should make 6 servings and include no more than 10 ingredients that are readily available (salt and pepper will not be counted in the 10 ingredients). - Cleanseas Hiramasa Recipe Contest - Deadline: November 30, 2009
For Professional Chefs and Culinary Students of the United States and Canada. Clean Seas Tuna Ltd., in partnership with the Milestone Culinary Arts Center of Dallas, invites you to submit an original recipe using raw, cooked, or smoked preparations of Cleanseas Yellowtail Kingfish (Hiramasa). This will be an “East versus West” competition, for all United States and Canada. Each region will have three prize winners: first: $2,000; second: $1,000; third: $500. Whether it’s a time treasured family favorite or a unique baked recipe that’s perfect for holiday gift giving, this contest celebrates tradition and innovation in holiday baking. Recipes can be entered into one of four food categories with an option of entering the recipe in two additional categories - video and SMART. The 4 food categories and 2 optional categories: 1. Cookies, Brownies and Blondies: perfectly portioned treats from the oven can double as delicious gifts for friends and neighbors 2. Cakes and Pies: classic baked desserts that delight a crowd, these recipes are well suited for holiday entertaining 3. Breads: walnuts sparkle in quick breads and yeast breads...also in muffins, rolls, loaves... 4. Breakfast / Brunch Baked Items: start the day with cinnamon rolls or coffee cake, but walnuts also add crunch to savory strata or quiche The video category is a great way for contestants to present their recipe in a number of ways, such as sharing holiday anecdotes or demonstrating their baking techniques! The SMART category is for recipes that are made over to be less indulgent but still delicious versions of classic, favorite treats. - California Wild Rice Rocks My World Recipe Rumble - Deadline: February 28, 2010
Contest for Chefs & other Culinary Professionals in California & Nevada. Chefs, chefs-in-training, caterers and other culinary professionals are invited to compete for a total of $5,000 cash and prizes. The California Wild Rice Advisory Board is sponsoring the contest. The goal of the Wild Rice Rumble is to tap into the creativity of California and Nevada chefs and other culinary professionals by challenging them to craft compelling new ways of using and serving wild rice in restaurants, within catering operations and in other foodservice settings. In addition to cash awards for the best recipes, photography enthusiasts will have an opportunity to submit photos of their recipe entries for a chance to win cash and prizes. Recipe and photo winners will also receive an array of wild rice products. There are 3 Recipe Categories (Starters, Salads, Sides) and 1 Photo Category 4 Third Place Prizes of $125 for each of the 3 recipe categories and the best photo. 4 Second Place Prizes of $250 for each of the 3 recipe categories and the best photo. 4 First Place Prizes of $500 for each of the 3 recipe categories and the best photo. 1 Grand Prize of $1500 will be chosen from the three first-prize recipe winners. - 32nd Annual Great Gilroy Garlic Recipe Contest and Cook-Off - Deadline: May 1, 2010
(after clicking the link, scroll down the page for the 2010 info) Recipes must use at least six cloves of fresh garlic, or the equivalent packaged form (3 teaspoon minced or chopped). Recipes must serve 6, be fully prepared, plated and ready for presentation to the judges within 2 hours. A photo of each entry should be included with the recipe submission. Professional chefs, cooks, food stylists and other food specialists are prohibited from entering this contest. Prizes are offered only to those finalists who participate in the Cook-Off on July 24, 2010. The prizes are: $1,000 for first place $750 for second place $500 for third place $100 for each of the other five finalists.
