- Bays Quarterly Recipe Contest - Quarterly Deadlines
A different theme for each quarterly contest. Recipes must use one or more Bays English Muffins, serve 4-6 people and use no more than 8 ingredients (not including Bays English Muffins, water, salt and pepper). Recipes judged on the basis of taste, appearance, imagination, practicality, appropriateness for an English muffin, and fit with the quarterly theme. Prizes: One First Place Winner will receive a $500 cash prize.

- Whole Foods Market Game-Day Gift Card Recipe Challenge - Deadline: February 6, 2010
With one of the biggest entertaining days of the year approaching, Super Bowl Sunday, it’s time to kick things off with a recipe contest for fabulous football dips. The Challenge: Develop a delicious dip recipe (could be a salsa, guacamole, cheese spread, or even a fresh fruit dessert dip) that is good for you (that means healthy– use your common sense here– no bacon or cream!). Home Cooks & Professional Chefs are invited to enter the 1st Annual HALL Cabernet Cookoff Sunday, May 16th, 12-4pm at HALL St. Helena, California An Event to Benefit Napa Valley Non-Profits Teams will compete in two categories: Amateur and Professional Showcase your talent and earn money for your favorite Napa Valley non-profit organization by creating a dish that’s made primarily with organic and sustainable ingredients and pairs perfectly with HALL Cabernet Sauvignon! Winning teams will be given a portion of the proceeds to donate to their favorite Napa Valley Non-Profit, plus prizes to be determined. There will also be music, wine tasting, cooking demonstrations and more! Contest for Chefs & other Culinary Professionals in California & Nevada. Chefs, chefs-in-training, caterers and other culinary professionals are invited to compete for a total of $5,000 cash and prizes. The California Wild Rice Advisory Board is sponsoring the contest. The goal of the Wild Rice Rumble is to tap into the creativity of California and Nevada chefs and other culinary professionals by challenging them to craft compelling new ways of using and serving wild rice in restaurants, within catering operations and in other foodservice settings. In addition to cash awards for the best recipes, photography enthusiasts will have an opportunity to submit photos of their recipe entries for a chance to win cash and prizes. Recipe and photo winners will also receive an array of wild rice products. Open to all kids currently enrolled in 7th or 8th grade. Healthy Kids Challenge and featured sponsor, Del Monte, along with educational partners, Johnson & Wales University and Home Baking Association, are offering the 8th annual middle school recipe contest, “Stirring Up Health”. - 32nd Annual Great Gilroy Garlic Recipe Contest and Cook-Off - Deadline: May 1, 2010
(after clicking the link, scroll down the page for the 2010 info) Recipes must use at least six cloves of fresh garlic, or the equivalent packaged form (3 teaspoon minced or chopped). Recipes must serve 6, be fully prepared, plated and ready for presentation to the judges within 2 hours. A photo of each entry should be included with the recipe submission. Professional chefs, cooks, food stylists and other food specialists are prohibited from entering this contest. Prizes are offered only to those finalists who participate in the Cook-Off on July 24, 2010.
