Tony’s Pizza

Review
I remember when I was a kid my family taking me into New York City and we would go into any one of a thousand pizza joints. What made the slices so special is they were thin and very very big. You know what I mean. They were so huge you could barely keep them on the paper plate and I used to think back then; how am I going to eat this thing? Well, Tony’s Pizza on the corner of Truman and Duval Sts. is just that kind of place, but since it’s newly built it’s too clean. In about five years it will be more like a New York in your face looking spot and I mean that in a positive way.
It’s very inviting at Tony’s with the glass windows and doors so you can see all the pizzas lined up on the counter when you walk by. The marble tables and big refrigerator case full of drinks make it easy to choose what you want. I haven’t tried the other dishes yet, but they have done a good job of presenting them in the side refrigerator case so they look very appetizing. Since I work next door 2 days a week I am glad they’re so close and convenient for me, but they are located where parking is next to impossible so if you’re hungry and meandering down Duval St. this will be your walk in spot.
The people behind the counter have been extremely friendly and won’t let you walk away from the register until you’re satisfied with your order. It’s new so it’s very clean and the management has done a very good job of keeping it that way. The pizza has as big a flavor as it has size of slice and I look forward to the days I can pop in. I pay about $4.50 for a slice and a bottle of soda so it’s not overly expensive and the prices on the other menu items look quite reasonable.
Okay, so you’re in Key West and you’re escaping from the snow flying in New York. Then take your main meal at one of the many terrific local dining establishments, but when you’re out shopping or checking out the local entertainment or museums then Tony’s is the kind of place you can be confident in when trying to fill the afternoon hungries!
