JACK'S SCREAMING RED SAUCE

Yield: Makes 5 cups.
 
  1 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
  1 (28-ounce) can tomato puree
  6 cloves garlic, pressed
  1 medium onion, finely chopped
  2 ¼ cups sugar
  1 cup red wine vinegar
  3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  ½ teaspoon dry mustard
  ½ cup dark molasses
  3 tablespoons hot pepper sauce, or to taste
  ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  2 teaspoons salt
  ¼ cup fresh lemon juice


Cooking directions:
Combine all ingredients except lemon juice in a large saucepan. 

Bring to a boil. 

Reduce heat and simmer about 45 minutes. 

Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. 
Store covered in the refrigerator.
