Des Moines, Iowa
The Annual Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival will be held at the Iowa Events Center from 10am to 5pm (9am for Early Entry Tickets and Tables).  Recognized as the “Mecca of all bacon festivals”, the much talked about Blue Ribbon Bacon Festival takes place annually in Des Moines, IA. Organized and promoted by the Iowa Bacon Board, the festival offers participants: extensive bacon sampling, bacon lectures, bacon-inspired dishes, bacon competitions, an annual bacon queen, bacon awards, live entertainment and bacon camaraderie. Attendance: 8,000.

May 23-24, 2015  7th Annual Smokin' in the Junction BBQ Contest
West Des Moines, Iowa
Join us for hot BBQ, great food, live music, food vendors, kids activities, inflatables, the beer garden and two days full of fun!  Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) our event is one of the largest BBQ competitions in Iowa and includes over $10,000 in team prizes. Food and drink may not be purchased from our competitors, but is available from food vendors located along 5th Street. The Tropical Wine Festival will offer guests the opportunity to leave behind a cold Iowa winter and escape to the Scottish Rite Consistory where they may sample some of the best Iowa-crafted wines from fifteen central Iowa wineries that comprise the Heart of Iowa wine trail. Hors d'ouevres will be prepared and served by some of Central Iowa's best known restaurants and specialty food providers.
