Annual Estherville Sweet Corn Days - Estherville, Iowa
Estherville Sweet Corn Days is a 4 day event for everyone! Thursday night is the lighting of the cobs - a fun kick-off including s'mores! Friday is Family Night with family entertainment, kids games, a car cruise and a steak supper! Saturday is a day of fun for everyone!Saturday starts the day with one of the biggest parades in the area, FREE SWEETCORN, inflatables, craft show, food vendors and so much more! End the night on Saturday with a concert by Junk FM! Sunday is a relaxing day including a fun float and other relaxing activities!

August 3, 2019  Bacon-N-Hops Fest - Manchester, Iowa
Enjoy samples of bacon inspired foods and try the hops from various breweries and home brewers at Manchester’s own Bacon-N-Hops Fest! This event coincides with the Country Car Cruise and Motorcycle Trials and  also brings in great entertainment!  Tickets at the gate will be $25. Music lovers can also attend the music portion only for $5.

August 3, 2019  Family Day: Grain Harvest - Urbandale, Iowa
Experience demonstrations of the many methods used to harvest oats and wheat from 1850 to the present and help bring in the harvest. Children's craft center in the barn and free popcorn and lemonade. Held at Living History Farms.

August 7-11, 2019  West Point Sweet Corn Festival - West Point, Iowa
Iowa's largest Sweet Corn Festival. All you can eat sweet corn, free entertainment, midway and more. Pull up a seat and help volunteers shuck nearly 17 tons of sweet corn at Shuckfest held the day before the Sweet Corn Festival.  (also: )  Attendance: 25,000.

August 8-18, 2019  Iowa State Fair - Des Moines, Iowa
Annually attracting more than a million people, the Iowa State Fair is a salute to the state’s best in agriculture, industry, entertainment and achievement. One of the oldest and largest agricultural and industrial expositions in the country, it was the inspiration for the original novel “State Fair” by Iowan Phil Stong, three motion pictures, and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Broadway musical.  Attendance: 1,000,000.

August 16-18, 2019  55th Annual Old Time Power Show
Cedar Falls, Iowa
Founded in 1964, Antique Acres is best known for its yearly Old Time Power Show in August, which is dedicated to the preservation and operation of  antique machinery. Here you will find exhibitors displaying collections of farming equipment of all kinds, jelly being made on an old fashioned wood stove, or butter being churned. A “Parade of Power” from antique garden tractors to powerful steam engines, which put on a beautiful light show after dark, is only one of the 3-day show events.

August 3-5, 2018  Annual Operation T-Bone - Audubon, Iowa
Celebrating the area's livestock industry, this event includes a parade, fun run, steak sandwich feed, tractor show & shine, and chili cook-off. Be sure to visit Audubon's huge statue of Albert the Bull.

August 15-17, 2018  Annual Lisbon Sauerkraut Days - Lisbon, Iowa
Sauerkraut King and Queen, parade, street dances, golf and softball tournaments, cabbage weigh-off and more!

August 25, 2018 - Independence BrewBQ - Independence, Iowa
Overwhelm your senses with outstanding BBQ, slow cooked for hours over hardwood smoke. Food and standard beverages are available by purchasing tickets at the event.  Our Craft Brew Zone features over 50 craft brews and is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Passes for the Craft Brew Zone are available in advance or at the gate. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy our live music. Music starts at 2:00 and lasts until 9:00 p.m.

August 23, 2014 - Bacon & Brew Fest - Ottumwa, Iowa
The Bacon & Brew Fest is a new event for Ottumwa!!  FREE ADMISSION! to all aspects of the event.  Kid’s games and activities from 2 pm to 6 pm.  Three local bands will be performing in the arena 5 pm - 11 pm.  The USA’s longest BLT at 515 feet will be on display.  Bring a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank to get a free slice of the famous BLT.  Vendors will be selling samples and full-size servings of bacon items and brews.

August 31, 2014 - Festival of Iowa Beers - Amana, Iowa
Sample some of Iowa's best brews at Millstream Brewing. Craft breweries and Iowa home brew clubs assemble for this unique tasting event.  (also: )

August 2, 2012  Sweet Corn Serenade - Oskaloosa, Iowa
This day-long activity in historical downtown Oskaloosa includes a craft show, entertainment and food vendors beginning at noon. Beginning at 4 p.m., will be children's games, pie-baking contest, fresh picked and cooked sweet corn, pork burgers, pie and ice cream at a small fee and more. Musical entertainment by Gravel Road, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., is sponsored by Bank Iowa. Sweet corn for only 25cents!! For more information contact the Chamber, 641.672.2591.  Attendance: 5,000.
