August 4-7, 2016 19th Annual Estherville Sweet Corn Days
Estherville Sweet Corn Days is a 4 day event for everyone! Thursday night is the lighting of the cobs - a fun kick-off including s'mores! Friday is Family Night with family entertainment, kids games, a car cruise and a steak supper! Saturday is a day of fun for everyone!Saturday starts the day with one of the biggest parades in the area, FREE SWEETCORN, inflatables, craft show, food vendors and so much more! End the night on Saturday with a concert by Junk FM! Sunday is a relaxing day including a fun float and other relaxing activities!
August 5-9, 2016 - Annual Operation T-Bone - Audubon, Iowa
Celebrating the area's livestock industry, this event includes a parade, fun run, steak sandwich feed, tractor show & shine, and chili cook-off. Be sure to visit Audubon's huge statue of Albert the Bull.
August 6, 2016 - Family Day: Grain Harvest - Urbandale, Iowa
Experience demonstrations of the many methods used to harvest oats and wheat from 1850 to the present and help bring in the harvest. Children's craft center in the barn and free popcorn and lemonade. Held at Living History Farms.

Founded in 1964, Antique Acres is best known for its yearly Old Time Power Show in August, which is dedicated to the preservation and operation of antique machinery. Here you will find exhibitors displaying collections of farming equipment of all kinds, jelly being made on an old fashioned wood stove, or butter being churned. A “Parade of Power” from antique garden tractors to powerful steam engines, which put on a beautiful light show after dark, is only one of the 3-day show events.

The Bacon & Brew Fest is a new event for Ottumwa!! FREE ADMISSION! to all aspects of the event. Kid’s games and activities from 2 pm to 6 pm. Three local bands will be performing in the arena 5 pm - 11 pm. The USA’s longest BLT at 515 feet will be on display. Bring a non-perishable food item for the Food Bank to get a free slice of the famous BLT. Vendors will be selling samples and full-size servings of bacon items and brews.
