Bread-making process from start to finish is an all-day event with the mixing beginning at 10 a.m. and the finished product coming out of the oven around 3 p.m.

During the 19th century, many farm wives supplemented farm income by selling butter. They churned every day or so, or whenever enough cream had accumulated.
