HOT APPLES WITH OAT TOPPING

Makes 4 servings.


INGREDIENTS
Apples

4 tart apples
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. ground cinnamon


Oat Topping
1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
2 Tbsp. maple syrup
2 tsp. oil
1 tsp. vanilla


DIRECTIONS
To Make The Apples:
Peel and core the apples, then cut into small chunks.
Place in a 9" glass pie plate and toss with cinnamon.
Stir well.
Cover with vented plastic wrap and microwave on high for 6 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
Let stand for 5 minutes.

To Make The Oat Topping:
Place the oats in another 9" glass pie plate.
Drizzle with maple syrup, oil and vanilla. Mix well. Microwave on high for 1 minute.
Stir well. Repeat 3 or 4 times, or until the oats are crisp and very lightly browned but not burned.
Sprinkle over the apples.
