It is now recognized as a family-friendly Oktoberfest style celebration, with over 100 carousels, entertainment, and six beer tents to seat 24,000 people. Only beers from the Straubing region are served. Each year the festival hosts over one million visitors, many attired in Bavarian costume.

In the following years, the celebrations were repeated and, later, the festival was prolonged and moved forward into September.
