February 18-19, 2012 Ambato Fruit & Flower Festival 2012 Ambato, Ecuado rAmbato, which lies in the central Andean valley of Ecuador, is known as the Garden City. Its festival, held the weekend before Lent, commemorates the earthquake that destroyed the city in 1949 and celebrates the region's agricultural products.
June 22, 2012 Inti Raymi Otavalo, Cotacachi, Antonio Ante & Ibarra, Ecuador Known as the 'party of the sun and harvest', the event follows ancestral traditions of the summer solstice. Special grain-based foods are prepared. There are colorful processions and theatrical presentations and ritual dances are performed.
August 29-Sept 12, 2012 Fiesta del Maiz - Sangolqui, Ecuador The Festival of Corn includes a parade with beauty queens, volcano-themed floats and chagras (Andean cowboys); musical acts, arts and crafts competitions, fireworks, and grain-rich foods and drinks.
September 1-8, 2012 Fiesta de Yamor - Otavalo, Ecuador This harvest festival, which celebrates the fertility of local corn crops, combines Catholic and native, pre-colonial religious elements. A special liquor, Chicha, is prepared from seven varieties of corn. Events include parades, folk dancing, bull fights and a pageant. Held annually the first week of September.

May 1-14, 2011 Raw Food World Conference 2011 Vilcabamba, Ecuador A "free flow" gathering with events such as raw food talks, hikes, farm tours, yoga sessions, and food demos. Presented by Madre Tierra Resort.
November 13, 2011 17th Annual International Food Fair 2011 Cuenca, Ecuador Held at the Mall del Rio Convention Center, the event benefits Cuenca Cancer Support Foundation. In addition to Ecuadoran comida tipica, the fair will feature food from Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, the U.S., Japan, Argentina, Germany, Colombia and Chile.
