April 9, 2012  Trelawny Yam Festival - Trelawny, Jamaica
CANCELLED FOR 2012. A cultural, heritage and food festival first initiated at the community level and first celebrated in 1997.  It has become the standard bearer for all local food festivals in Jamaica and boasts a number of events and attractions culminating in a grand festive occasion on Easter Monday each year.  These events leading up to the festival include the Schools’ Competition in February; Farmers’ field Celebration in March, and a King and Queen pageant also in March. 

July 2, 2012  Portland Jerk Festival

The "home´of Jamaica's jerk cuisine  A family affair celebrating Jamaica”s unique culinary heritage. Emphasizing the Portland Jerk Experience, a unique ambiance and taste which cannot be replicated elsewhere. Entertainment from popular local artistes. The Folly Estate is the venue for this event.
