Held every Easter weekend, the festival celebrates the contribution of those involved in the local fishing industry with music, crafts, food and fun.

The origins of the festival can be traced back to the 1780's, when Barbados was the world's leading producer of sugar and a huge celebration marked the culmination of the sugar cane harvest. The festival now features many events including the ceremonial delivery of the last canes, calypso music, the Cohobblopot carnival, and the grande Kadooment parade.
