February 22-24, 2014 Bun Day (Bolludagur)
Bursting time. Fill up before Lent, with all the cream buns you can eat on Bun Monday (Monday before Ash Wednesday each year). Children especially love Bun Day because they get to wake up early and try to catch their parents still in bed. If they do, they "beat" them out of bed with "bun wands", made of colorful paper and ribbon. The parents then give their children one cream puff for every "blow" received.

The name really says it all. "Reykjavik Food and Fun Festival" is an event which combines outstanding culinary skills, fresh natural ingredients, Icelandic outdoor adventure and the world-famous Reykjavik nightlife to create the ultimate recipe for fun.
March 1, 2014 Beer Day - Reykjavik, Iceland
March first is Beer Day every year in Iceland. This event began on March 1st, 1989, when a 75-year-long prohibition of beer was lifted. Pubs, restaurants, and clubs all around Reykjavik are especially wild this night.
March 4, 2014 Bursting Day (Sprengidagur), Iceland
Fill up before Lent on salted lamb and vegetables. "Bursting Tuesday" is the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday each year).
September 25-27, 2014 Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition
The exhibition covers every aspect of the commercial fishing industry from catching and locating to processing and packaging, right through to marketing and distribution of the final product. Held every three years since 1984.
