September 8-9, 2023 South Carolina Apple Festival Westminster, South Carolina The 60th annual festival will celebrate the beginning of apple harvest season in Oconee County, the largest apple-producing area in the state. Apple baking contest, rodeo, talent show, parades, arts & crafts, entertainment and rafting on the Chattooga River. September 9, 2023 Charleston Beer Fest - Charleston, South Carolina Kick back in the many beer gardens at Riverfront Park and enjoy craft brews from 10 breweries, good eats at the food truck rodeo, beer school, cornhole, and great live music all day. 12-8pm. September 14-17, 2023 Euphoria - Greenville, South Carolina Food, wine, and music event. A Southern Exposure Experience, raises money for non-profit organizations while offering attendees a higher state of food, wine, and music. September 14-17, 2023 Columbia's 36th Annual Greek Festival Columbia, South Carolina Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The annual event with live Greek music, cultural exhibits, theatre production, folk dances, and Greek delicacies made for You! September 15-16, 2023 Annual Yemassee Shrimp Festival Yemassee, South Carolina Lighted parade, music, amusement rides, fireworks, street dance, mud run, and lots of shrimp to eat. September 29-30, 2023 49th Annual Irmo Okra Strut Festival Irmo, South Carolina The festival is now a two day event featuring Okra Strut Parade, okra eating contest, a street dance, arts, crafts, rides, entertainment, and amusements, petting zoo, and plenty of food. The Okra Strut Festival is managed by a board of committee members appointed by the Irmo Town Council and we are proud to say, 'we are the nation's original celebration of Okra.' Attendance: 55,000 September 29-October 1, 2023 - Beach n' Chili Fest: ICS World's Championsihp Chili Cookoff - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina The ICS is the official organization that sanctions chili cookoffs. These events are worldwide and benefit charities or nonprofit organizations. All winners of ICS sanctioned cookoffs qualify to compete for cash prizes and awards at the World's Championship Chili Cookoff. The ICS is the largest food contest, festival organization in the world. Our sole purpose is to promote, develop and improve the preparation and appreciation of true chili and to determine each year the World's Champion Chili through officially sanctioned and regulated competitive cookoffs. September 30, 2023 19th Annual Irish Italian International Festival North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina Featuring food from local restaurants, two stages of live entertainment, street performers, art & craft vendors, and dance groups all surrounding an Irish Italian International theme. Restaurants will compete for the title of Best Entrée, Best Decorated, and Best Dessert. Festival goers can join in friendly competitions from a spaghetti eating competition to a Lego contest!

From alligator to chicken to possum along with the more traditional fixins, you will find a bit of everything at the Chili Cookoff. There are two types of judging for the competition. First, the general public is allowed to vote for the best chili in both professional and amateur categories. A group of honorable judges determine the best chili in a separate judging. |
