The Grape Carnival, as it was first known, had a renaissance in 1998 as the Grape & Fall Festival. The event originated to celebrate the annual grape harvest and features food, crafters—and the highlight of the Festival—the Grape Stomping Contest.

The Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival began in 1991 as a celebration of the pumpkin and the promotion for the village of Hartsburg. In those days, and to the present, Hartsburg was known as “The Garden Spot of Boone County.” That rich Missouri River bottom soil produces unique and bountiful harvests of grains, grasses, fruits, and vegetables. Attending the Wine & Food Celebration is a great way to have a memorable, fun-filled, delicious day and support Ozarks Public Television at the same time! All proceeds benefit educational children’s programming. October 28-29, 2023 Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival
Kimmswick, Missouri
Come enjoy the small town ambience and stroll through our streets lined with 500 to 600 food, drink and craft vendors. Visitors are encouraged to help members of the Historical Society stir the apple butter cooking over a woodburning fire. Apple butter is for sale each day. Hosted by the MU Horticulture & Agroforestry Research Center, the event is an opportunity to introduce landowners to the benefits of implementing agroforestry practices on their land. There are cooking demonstrations, musical entertainment and chestnut products available to buy.

National brands, artisan bacon-makers, and bacon purveyors display, sample, and sell a multitude of bacon and bacon inspired products. The best mixologists and brewers hand out bacon-inspired cocktails, beer and wine. And in honoring bacon in all its glory, Ozarks Bacon Fest will be holding a Bacon Eating Contest, a Best Bacon Recipe contest and a Bacon Art contest. This won't be your standard Kraft, as each restaurant will be offering creative recipes with gourmet ingredients. In addition to as much mac & cheese as you can eat, each person will enjoy an all-inclusive bar as well as a stainless steel commemorative spork for tasting and to bring home!
