August is Maine Lobster Month - Statewide, Maine
As a result of Maine's successful lobster conservation effort, the state has hit record harvest levels for the last three years.  So in July 2012 Maine Governor Paul LePage signed a proclamation declaring August "Maine Lobster Month".

August 2-6, 2023 - Maine Lobster Festival - Rockland, Maine
Five days of fun and food on the fabulous coast of Maine! What do you get when you mix the world's greatest lobster cooker, a sea goddess, a big parade, top-notch entertainment, an international crate race, fine art, talented crafts people and vendors, U.S. Navy ship tours, all-you-can eat pancakes, free shuttle service, U.S. Coast Guard Station tours, a cooking contest, marine heritage, road races, kids events, more than 20,000 pounds of lobster, PLUS more than 1,000 volunteers and a group of dedicated directors?   Attendance: 25,000.

August 3-6, 2023  Bangor State Fair - Bangor, Maine
Bangor State Fair is an agricultural and recreational gathering of the population of the Greater Bangor Area and the entire state of Maine that lasts for 10 days at Bass Park – the land encompassing Cross Insurance Center. The Bangor State Fair typically draws between 40,000 and 50,000 people a year and dates at least as far back as 1849.  Attendance: 50,000.

August 3-6, 2023  167th Northern Maine Fair - Presque Isle, Maine
Agriculture...It's Our Roots!  A large family fair, lots of rides and exhibits, horse pulling, harness racing, tractor pulling, demo derby.

August 4-5, 2023  Annual Blueberry Festival - Wilton, Maine
Pick your own blueberries! Food for sale at local church bazaars including blueberry muffins, cake, and pies. Blueberry cookoff and chili tasting contest. Parade, blacksmithing event, fire truck rides, boat tours, music and fireworks.

August 8-13, 2023  168th Topsham Fair - Topsham, Maine
At the Topsham Fair, our goal is to celebrate Maine's thriving agriculture.  When you're looking for fun things to do in Topsham, Maine, consider making a stop at the fair for your entertainment. Topsham Fair has all the bells and whistles, from harness racing and truck pulling to the demolition derby.
 


 

August 10-19, 2023  Skowhegan State Fair - Skowhegan, Maine
The Nations oldest Consecutively Running Agricultural Fair (since 1819).  Exhibition Halls, Livestock Shows, Horse & Tractor Pulling, Barrel Racing, Doodlebug Pulling, Muttin Bustin, Midway, Commercial Hall Vendors, Crafters, etc.... we've got it all.

August 12, 2023  Maine Red Hot Dog Festival - Dexter, Maine
The Maine Red Hot Dog Festival is a DRC fundraiser designed to attract a large number of people to the town where they will see all that Dexter has to offer, and to simply have fun!

August 18-20, 2023  46th Annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival
Machias, Maine
The Down East region of Maine produces nearly 85% of the world's blueberries. The annual Wild Blueberry Festival celebrates the blueberry with a Main Street parade, fabulous food, crafts and fine art by regional artists, live music, and activities for the children. Bring the whole family!  A project of Centre Street Congregational, United Church of Christ.

The Washington County Fair provides a fun filled weekend for the whole family!

One of Main's Premier Agricultural Fairs.

EVENT CANCELED DUE TO CORONAVIRUS.  An agricultural trade show, held on a working dairy farm in Maine.  Visit a farm and see what farm life is all about. Watch farm activities and demonstrations from milking to felting; pet farm animals, pick berries, tour a barn or go on a hay ride. There will be farm-raised products for sale, displays to see and samples to taste.
