August 1-31, 2023 August is Maine Lobster Month - Statewide, Maine As a result of Maine's successful lobster conservation effort, the state has hit record harvest levels for the last three years. So in July 2012 Maine Governor Paul LePage signed a proclamation declaring August "Maine Lobster Month". August 2-6, 2023 - Maine Lobster Festival - Rockland, Maine Five days of fun and food on the fabulous coast of Maine! What do you get when you mix the world's greatest lobster cooker, a sea goddess, a big parade, top-notch entertainment, an international crate race, fine art, talented crafts people and vendors, U.S. Navy ship tours, all-you-can eat pancakes, free shuttle service, U.S. Coast Guard Station tours, a cooking contest, marine heritage, road races, kids events, more than 20,000 pounds of lobster, PLUS more than 1,000 volunteers and a group of dedicated directors? Attendance: 25,000. August 3-6, 2023 Bangor State Fair - Bangor, Maine Bangor State Fair is an agricultural and recreational gathering of the population of the Greater Bangor Area and the entire state of Maine that lasts for 10 days at Bass Park – the land encompassing Cross Insurance Center. The Bangor State Fair typically draws between 40,000 and 50,000 people a year and dates at least as far back as 1849. Attendance: 50,000.
