June 5-6, 2020
South Dakota BBQ Championships
Huron, South Dakota
South Dakota State Fairgrounds.  Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned with over $14,000 in cash prizes.  Also a Peoples Choice Backyard BBQ Competition. Anyone can compete in the Backyard BBQ portion of the event. (All of the meat is provided; lamb, pork & turkey; so you do not have to bring your own meat).  And Don't miss the F.A.T. Friday Chili Challenge open to everyone.

 

June 20, 2020  International Vinegar Festival - Roslyn, South Dakota
Roslyn's Vinegar Festival is a celebration event with parade, live music, arts and crafts, vendors, food, and of course, Vinegar! The Vinegar Museum is open with free admission.

July 4, 2020  4TH OF JULY - Nationwide
There are so many events on this day that they are too numerous to list.

July 17-18, 2020  Cookin' on Kampeska - Watertown, South Dakota
Cookin' on Kampeska is two days of fun for the entire family! The Friday and Saturday event is packed full of exciting activities and entertainment.  Corks & Kegs - Burger Battle - Kids' Que - Little Miss and Little Mr. Kampeska pageant - Frozen T-Shirt Challenge - Bean Bag Tournament - People's Choice BBQ - Cardboard Boat Races.

June 17-20, 2020 - Teapot Days - Tea, South Dakota
Crowning of Ma and Pa Teapot, teapot displays, carnival, parade, 5k run, tractor pull, car show, antique farm equipment, cow pie bingo, fireworks and more.

August 18-20, 2020 - DakotaFest - Mitchell, South Dakota
Annual outdoor farm show that takes place outside of Mitchell, South Dakota. The show includes more than 550 companies on over 50 acres of land.

June 15-16, 2019  Antique Power Show - Huron, South Dakota
Experience the historical days of antique tractors, cars, steam and stationary gas engines during the Antique Tractor and Power Show. The event features about 150 exhibits and displays, entertainment, demonstrations, flea market, parade and tractor and car games. The Antique Power Show always takes place the weekend of Father’s Day, so bring Dad out to enjoy the many things to see!  The event is held at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds and admission is free.

 

July 26-28, 2019 - Bruce Honey Days - Bruce, South Dakota
A weekend for the whole family. Honey cook-off, bean-bag tournament, teen dance, craft show, parade, car show, whopper feed, honey fudge & ice cream, volleyball tournament, kids activities, and street dance.

August 2-4, 2019 - Annual Clark Potato Days - Clark, South Dakota
The potato is king in Clark where each year the town throws a party in honor of its favorite over-used, under-appreciated starch. Potato Day includes entertainment, parades, potato sack races, recipe contests, potato sculptures, craft market, world famous mashed potato wrestling, dance band at night and many more events.

August 21-25, 2019 - Corn Palace Festival - Mitchell, South Dakota
The Corn Palace Festival is a celebration of the annual redecoration of the world's only corn palace. The best in entertainment, carnival rides, food & specialty vendors, along with the locals bringing in their best produce to be judged makes this an event you will want to attend.

August 23-24, 2019 - Hill City Wine, Brew and BBQ
Hill City, South Dakota
Mingle with some of the best competition BBQ teams in the region on Elm Street in downtown Hill City. The teams may be busy preparing their entries into the various divisions of the competition or serving their BBQ for the People's Choice competition.  Stop by the event booth to purchase your beer & wine glass and people's choice tokens so that you can get in on the action. Expect dozens of regional beers and wines available to wash down the BBQ. There will also be food vendors selling BBQ if you miss the People's Choice competition.

August 24-25, 2019  The Great Dakota Wine Festival
Vermillion, South Dakota
Valiant Vineyards presents The Great Dakota Wine Fest, a bash from the past.  We are celebrating the 1950's & you cats should make this scene.  You'll be on cloud 9 tasting the different South Dakota wines & spirits.  The "cook will be cookin" literally, during the cooking with wine demonstrations & amateur wine making competition.  Have a blast while dancing to the original beats of Jami Lynn & various musicians. Hang and check out the vendors & the antique car show, grape stomp & even bring the ankle biters.  Be there or be square!

August 19, 2017  Plankinton 13th Annual Pheasant Fest
Plankinton, South Dakota
Plankinton is located in a prime South Dakota hunting area. The festival includes a demolition derby, greased pig contest, candy toss, kiddie parade, street dance and a progressive supper serving around 1000 pheasants prepared by local business people.
