Adolphus Busch

(July 10, 1839 - October 10, 1913)

Adolphus Busch was born near Mainz, Germany. He founded Anheuser Busch in 1866 with his father-in-law, Eberhard Anheuser. In 1873 Busch developed a method of pasteurizing beer so it could withstand temperature fluctuations, which enabled national distribution. Anheuser Busch is the world's largest brewer.
