June 9-11, 2021  Mediterranean Diet Roundtable: MDR Connect
Washington D.C.
THIS WILL BE A VIRTUAL EVENT.  SEE WEBSITE FOR DETAILS.  The MDR brings together a cross section of individuals from the national and international food community, scientists and researchers  supporting the Mediterranean Diet, as well as practicing foodservice professionals who can describe the benefits that the Mediterranean Diet has had on the menus they plan and serve in their programs. It will also include a discussion of the issues related to sourcing the various ingredients used to create meals that meet the Mediterranean Diet regimen. The intended audience for this international event includes food industry buyers, importers and distributors, international manufacturers and international trade missions and agencies, as well as doctors, nutritionists and other food and foodservice industry professionals.

April 6, 2020 - Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation
Washington D.C.
Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation is the nation's premier culinary benefit, featuring top chefs and mixologists -- all of whom are coming together to donate their time, talent and passion to end childhood hunger in America.

May 27-June 4, 2020  Young Cattlemen's Conference - Washington D.C.
The primary objective is to develop leadership qualities in young cattlemen and women and expose them to all aspects of the beef industry. The tour will begin in Denver with a comprehensive overview of the industry.  JBS Five Rivers’ Kuner Feedyard, one of the nation’s largest cattle feeding operations, a one-time capacity of over 100,000 head located in Northern Colorado.  We will then tour the JBS Greeley facility, one of the nation’s largest beef packing and processing plants.  Chicago is the next destination, where the group will visit the Chicago Board of Trade & OSI, Inc. one of the nation’s premiere beef patty manufacturers. The participants will then travel to the nation’s Capitol, where they will meet with their respective congressmen and senators.

Truckeroo is a monthly festival held at The Bullpen that showcases the hottest food trucks in the DC area. Held April through September, Truckeroo is a family friendly event and features live music, cold drinks, games, and more.  2019 DATES - 4/19, 5/10, 6/7, 6/28, 7/19, 8/2, 8/23, 9/20.

The Organization of Women of the Americas (OWA) annual Food Festival of the Americas. This annual event is an opportunity to experience a diversity of foods, music and dance offered by the countries of the hemisphere. International cuisine, music, dancing, cultural performances, silent auction and raffles. Great networking event with diplomats in the DC area as the food is donated by the Permanent Missions and Permanent Observer Missions accredited to the Organization of American States (OAS). Proceeds from the sale of food will go to charities in the DC area and the Americas. A family friendly event, bring your kids to get their faces painted and to play on the moon bounce.
