National Vegetarian Week (NVW) is the annual awareness-raising campaign promoting inspirational vegetarian food and the benefits of a meat-free lifestyle. With a host of fabulous foodie events all around the country and with the support of more chefs than ever before, this year’s Slow Food Week is Set to be the biggest and best yet. Slow Food Week 2014 will see the introduction of 7 new Forgotten Foods, 7 new Chefs to the UK Chef Alliance and a variety of events. Providing a forum to reinforce Slow Food UK’s work with local artisan producers and suppliers to preserve British edible biodiversity. Slow Food Chef Alliance celebrations and fund-raisers will be taking place in England, Scotland and Wales. Founded in Italy in 1989, Slow Food is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the world that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment.

160th Annual Cardigan County Agricultural Show

West Wales' Premier Agricultural Show. Not only are we celebrating our 160th birthday but we are also changing things on the show field this year. Our Demonstration ring will be the focal point of the show with the introduction of a 150 seat Grandstand and the new Headliner act, there will be something for everyone to see and do at this year’s show. We are also introducing a Sheepdog Trials Challenge for three invited Young Handlers from the Counties of Ceredigion, Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire. This will also take place in the Demonstration Ring and will be sure to thrill anyone who has ever Seen One Man and His Dog on the telly. Another old Favourite will make a return appearance this year with the reintroduction of the Cattle Parade, a spectacle missing from the Show for many years. Then there’s the New Food Hall with a variety of locally produced food and drinks on display. There will also be a demonstration area with talks and demonstrations taking place thorough the day. These are all on top of the well-established attractions which appear annually at the Show.

Anglesey is proud to host an annual Oyster & Welsh Produce Festival. It is a very different event from what it was in the early years. It used to be an informal social event whereby vast amounts of local oysters & alcohol were consumed - Served with a strong music, singing and a Welsh and Irish dance offer. A committee of volunteers was formed in 2000 to direct the event into the future. The aim was to broaden the appeal for non seafood lovers, and as a result a 'Welsh Produce Festival' was introduced in 2000.

North Wales` biggest food festival, this tasty two-day event is held within Conwy`s medieval town walls and on its quayside. Gwledd Conwy Feast features Conwy's world famous mussels, collected in the Conwy river estuary for hundreds of years. The event boasts 150 stalls, celebrates the best of Welsh chefs and local produce and attracts 25,000 visitors. Varied programme of cookery demonstrations, music, entertainment and workshops and children's activities.

Royal Welsh Agricultural Society Winter Fair

Set in the heart of rural Wales and priding itself on being the best primestock event in the UK, the Royal Welsh Winter Fair has something to offer everyone. The main attraction for the event is, of course, the tremendous display of livestock, with an average of 1400 entries in both the livestock and equine competitions each year, showing off the best of British farming.
