It is Apple Season – so we are holding our first Apple Day with lots of lovely apple crafts and activities. You will see apple pressing by Gatcombe valley Juices outside the Visitor Centre, so please do bring a bag of apples, watch them being pressed and taste the fresh juice or if you wish, you can bring more for pasteurisation and bottling for which there will be a charge (£1.90 per 75 cl bottle). The round shape of the apple with the great reds and greens makes the apple a perfect base for creating art. So enjoy some Apple Art with The Plough and either carve, sculpt, decorate or do all of them with your apple to enter the Apple Art Competition! There will also be Live Music by "no rest for the fiddlers", apple bobbing, apple stamping, and especially for adults, apple cup making, which you can then use to enjoy a refreshing cider drink (available at the café bar) or perhaps some fresh apple juice! Clovelly Court Gardens produce, including a pick of pumpkins, will be on sale and Merry Harriers Garden Centre will also have some of their interesting products on display.

In association with Gainsborough CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale), Traditional Ales, Ciders and Perrys will be served in the Great Hall. This atmospheric festival set in the unique setting of this 15th century Manor House is commemorating 100 years since the start of the Great War with beers from the towns/cities with Pals regiments, which include 8 beers from the local Grafters Brewery. Falmouth Oyster Festival celebrates the start of the oyster dredging season, the diversity and quality of Cornish Seafood and in particular, one of the last remaining traditional oyster fisheries, dredging by sail and hand punt. Each year, a cookery master-class from a celebrity chef, followed by a book signing opens the festival. Packed with cookery demonstrations by leading local chefs, oysters, seafood, wine and local ale, children's shell painting, sea shanties, a town parade, and live music, an oyster shucking competition, a Falmouth Working Boat race and marquees brimming with Cornish produce; the festival is a must for all oyster, seafood and maritime heritage enthusiasts!

Supported by Select Lincolnshire and Lincoln Colonia Rotary, this free event spread throughout the grounds of Lincoln Castle and spilling into Castle Square is the perfect opportunity to warm up with some tasty local food and drink so come along between 10am and 4pm. Sausage making demonstrations and lots of stalls selling all types of produce - and an abundance of Lincolnshire Sausages to buy and eat or to take away and enjoy at home. Local chefs will be demonstrating a range of recipes. A wealth of family entertainment. Last year's festival saw 32,000 sausages sold, and organisers the Rotary Club of Lincoln Colonia and Select Lincolnshire are hoping this year's will be even bigger and better. Visitors will be entertained by The Europa Clowns, Matto and Polo, and there will be street music and entertainment from the Cosmic Sausages along with Mr Sausage who will be making appearances throughout the day in and around the Castle Grounds. Children’s cookery demonstration area in the Redhill Farm’s Marquee.
