Clovelly Herring Festival
Clovelly, North Devon, England
Clovelly was once a major centre for herring fishing.  This popular festival is held in support of sustainable fishing and to celebrate the herring, the 'Silver Darlings' of the sea.  There'll be delicious herring specialities, cookery demonstrations, live shanty singers, street entertainment, photo exhibition, local food and craft stalls and National Trust event-themed craft activities.  Mike Smylie, maritime historian, will return with his 'Kipperland' exhibition and smoke his delicious kippers and bloaters.  There'll also be net making, flax processing and a curragh on show provided by 'Flaxland'.  Normal admission charges apply, please consult website for details.

November 3-5, 2016  22nd Watford Beer Festival
Watford, Hertfordshire, England
West Herts Sports Club. 80+ beers, ciders and perries will be available at the festival including the usual selection from new and established breweries in Hertfordshire and London. The main bar and some seating will be in the indoor function room. Extra seating will be provided in the heated marquee together with another bar with more beers, ciders and perries.

November 4-6, 2016  Cake International Show - Birmingham, England
The Sugarcraft, Cake Decorating & Baking Show.  You’ll find all the sugarcraft, cake decorating and baking supplies you could ever imagine, plus a variety of features, demonstrations, workshops and displays.  There’s numerous competition classes, plus the opportunity to meet and glean advice from industry experts. You can never have too much cake, so come along and enjoy!

After the 2015 Harwich & Dovercourt Bay Winter Ale Festival had to be cancelled at short notice due to the loss of the venue, a new home has been found.  With the move to Parkeston Railway Club the festival has had a slight change of name to reflect the move.  You'll find a friendly welcome and pretty much all you need at our beer festival but if you're a visitor and would like to explore a little more of the area you'll find plenty of advice is on hand. If you fancy a walk you can take in Victorian Dovercourt, the Cliffs, Beacon Hill and, for the more ambitious, Old Harwich and 3 great real ale pubs - the Hanover Inn, the Alma Inn and the New Bell Inn.
