2017 Theme: Food & Landscape.  This event brings together writers, historians, sociologists, anthropologists, scientists, chefs and others who specialise in the study of food in history, its place in contemporary societies, and related scientific developments.

July 7-9, 2017  Kent County Show - Kent, England
The Kent County Show is a showcase event for farming, countryside and rural life.  The three day event brings together the very best of Kent with animals and food, fun and excitement and above all a sense of what ‘The Garden of England’ has to offer.  The Agricultural area of the Show boasts large displays of cattle, sheep and goats as well as a large Poultry and Egg show. Livestock competitions, sheep shearing demonstrations and modern machinery displays take place throughout the day.  The impressive display from Kent Young Farmers Clubs can also be found in this area, showcasing all the animals from their farms.

July 7-9, 2017  Foodies Festival - Blackheath Common, London, England
Each year the ever-growing festival sees tens-of-thousands of visitors flock from the surrounding areas to feast on a vast array of culinary activities, making Foodies Festival the social event of the summer.  We have top chefs cooking in the Chef’s Theatre; wine, beer, and cocktails in the Drink’s Theatre and kids can learn to cook too in the Children’s Cookery Theatre;  A new Tasting Theatre with The Cake & Bake demonstrations; Wine and Champagne Theatre; Beer Theatre; A new Feasting Tent; Another exciting addition this year is the Vintage Tea Tent;  A new Chilli Food Market and Chilli Eating Challenge takes place at 5pm daily.

July 8, 2017  47th World Peashooting Championship
Witcham, Cambridgeshire, England
First held in 1971, the contest was the idea of local schoolmaster Mr. Tyson, as a way to raise funds for a village hall. He had caught some students shooting peas at each other. Proceeds from the international event still go towards the upkeep of the village hall.  2nd Saturday in July

Braintree, Essex, England
Have we got a treat in store for all food-lovers when you head to the festival this year. Over 120 producers will come together to serve up a giant feast. Join us to sample some excellent local food, exciting and unusual flavours from the street food traders and soak up the atmosphere at the outdoor Food Court listening to live music whilst quaffing your favourite tipple!  We have three fabulous cookery theatres packed full of demonstrations and Master classes throughout the weekend and we haven't forgotten our mini master chefs. There will be kids cookery classes with the talented Ursula Ferrigno every hour on each day.  And what's more, one ticket price gets you the whole festival experience with no added extras! Even the kids cookery classes are free.

July 20, 2017  Mouth of the Tweed Festival of Local Food & Drink
Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England
More than a dozen stalls from food and drink producers located within a 16 mile radius of the mouth of the River Tweed at Berwick-upon-Tweed.  Sample the tastes and discover the story of our local food.  Enjoy a boat trip on the River Tweed and explore our Food Heritage Trail. Live traditional music.

July 20-22, 2017  Kent Camra Beer Festival - Canterbury, Kent, England
The UK’s second oldest CAMRA beer festival this year is our 43rd year.  “Beer on the farm” is the unofficial motto of the Kent Beer Festival. Kent has a rich brewing heritage and you'll find Over 200 Real Ales & Ciders.

July 21-23, 2017  Scarborough Seafest
Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England
Scarborough's 19th Annual Seafest Maritime Festival.  A weekend full of free live music, free cooking demonstrations and entertainment.  Highlights this year includes workshops and a performance by Leeds band Hope and Social, headliners at last year’s Yorkshire Festival; ukulele band Some Like it Ossett; poetry from A Firm of Poets; street theatre from Artizani Theatre Company, Artemis Lion Fish and Talking Birds, and a brand new arts marquee, with free drop-in arts sessions and story-telling.  There’ll also be rock-pooling and fossil-hunting walks from Hidden Horizons, a line-up of top chefs from around the region giving cookery demonstrations, a full programme of music headed by DJ Tooley, and the traditional blessing of the boats.

July 22-23, 2017  Cosford Food Festival
Cosford RAF Museum, Shropshire, England
A whole host of independent food and drink suppliers from across Shropshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands will be exhibiting a wide range of local, fresh and handmade produce.  With cooking demonstrations, food and drink giveaways and entertainment taking place over the weekend, it is sure to be a great day out.

July 22-23, 2017  Great British Food Festival: Knebworth Food Festival
Knebworth, Hertfordshire, England
More than ‘just another food festival’, The Great British Food Festival combines the nation’s love of great food and drink with some of the country’s most treasured locations, providing a unique opportunity to explore new flavours and beautiful venues, all at the same time! Open 10am-5pm each day. Dog friendly.  Entrance ticket includes free on-site parking and free access to 28 acres of spectacular formal Gardens including the Adventure Playground as well as the famous Dinosaur Trail and maze! A saving of £34 per family!

July 22-23, 2017  Cheese and Chilli Festival - Guildford, England
The event will see cheese and chillis from around the world brought to you.  The event has an obvious focus on cheese and chilli, but there will be something for everyone at the event and is a perfect family day out.  If that wasn’t enough, there will be a fantastic Beer Festival all weekend from our very own Ringwood Brewery!  A huge selection of award winning real ales will be available as well as cider, wine, lager etc., so don’t worry about not being able to cool your palate down.  To complement the party, with a dedicated stage area, live music from many local acts will be performed at the event.

July 22-24, 2017  Whitstable Oyster Festival - Whitstable, Kent, England
A colourful celebration packed with food & drink, music, parades, competitions, bbqs and many many other great events, is actually a  modern revival of an ancient holy festival dating way back to Norman times.  Today’s celebration symbolically recreates the ‘Landing of the Oysters’. Whitstable’s very own Sea Scouts land the oysters, which then go on receive a formal ‘Blessing’ before being presented to the Lord Mayor.  The blessed oysters are then distributed to the town’s inns, bars and restaurants via the vibrant and colourful Festival Parade as it travels through the historic centre.  Then, for the following seven jam packed days, Whitstable continues to celebrate.  Food festivals, music & comedy, giant beach-side screenings, children’s activities, recitals, oyster eating competitions, mud tugs and  family BBQ’s take place across the towns beaches, harbour and parks.

July -23, 2017  Food Feast South East - Eastbourne, East Sussex, England
A large food festival near Eastbourne with trade stands and live entertainment, a funfair and fancy dress competition.  Food vendors will be cooking up a feast! From street food to fine wine there will be something to suit everyone's taste buds.  Lots of interesting things to be found on our trade strades from furniture and garden ornaments to jewellery and clothing and plenty of entertainment including;Terrier racing, dog show, falconry, reptiles, belly dancers, a brass band, line dancing displays and DJ Crucial.

July 24, 2017  Oundle Food Festival
Oundle, Peterborough, Northamptonshire, England
Part of the Oundle International Festival, July 7-15, 2017.  Real food products, tasting opportunities, master classes on bread baking, fresh spices, homemade preserves, curious chutneys and pickles, freshly picked vegetables, salad crops  and cheeses. Seasonal fresh fruits, cordials, cake, scones and Italian style ice creams. Homemade juices, sips of English wines and beers – a celebration of all that is good and wholesome from our land.  Advice on growing our own vegetables. English Willow baskets, bee keeping demonstration, street music, buskers and children’s activities.

July 27-29, 2017  Bishops Stortford Beer Festival
Bishop's Stortford, England
Large selection of Rare and interesting Real Ales & Ciders from both small local breweries and from further afield.  BBQ Food, Rolls and Sandwiches available. Hog Roast Friday Evening.

July 29-30, 2017 - Great British Food Festival: Castle Howard
York, North Yorkshire, England
More than ‘just another food festival’, The Great British Food Festival combines the nation’s love of great food and drink with some of the country’s most treasured locations, providing a unique opportunity to explore new flavours and beautiful venues, all at the same time! Open 10am-5pm each day. Dog friendly.  Entrance ticket includes free on-site parking and free access to the grounds, gardens and adventure playground, normally priced at £9.50 per adult or £26.90 for a family ticket!

July 31, 2017  Woolsery & District Agricultural Show
Woolsery, Devon, England
The show has been held annually since 1892, changing from a half day to a whole day about forty years ago, having grown to the major event it is now. The show's present home is Clovelly Court, which gives it space to accommodate the six horse and numerous livestock rings.  Classes include crafts, cattle and sheep, together with horse and pony competitions. There will be a display of vintage farm machinery, a display of hounds and a sheep tent to see all things sheepish. You'll find bustling trade stalls offering locally made crafts and food with plenty to interest the children.  It's a great summer day out for all the family!  The gates open at 9 am and the show culminates with the Parade of Vintage Machinery at 4.30 pm.

The Mortimer Country Food Fair promotes local food and craft producers, by featuring their products to local people who may be unaware of how superb the food produced around them really is.

July 9-10, 2016  Great British Food Festival
Shugbrough Estate, Staffordshire, England
Along with wonderful food and drink there'll be chef demos, man v food and cake competitions, artisan talks, games & activities for the kids, and excellent live music.

July 23-24, 2016  Midlands Food and Drink Festival - Warwickshire, England
Midlands Food and Drink Festival will provide a maze of foodie fun including everything from local artisan food producer, the finest kitchen home wear products and some of the Midlands best street food traders, creating a multi sensory food and shopping experience for all ages to enjoy.  A live cookery theatre will host some of the best local chefs, providing an interactive opportunity for attendees to learn from some of Midlands culinary gems and even some Michelin starred experts.
