APPLE, PLUM & BLACKBERRY CRISP

The 5-A-Day Menu Planner
by Susannah Blake
Serves 4

Ingredients

• scant 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 6 tbsp. soft brown sugar
• 1 stick butter, chilled and diced
• 2 1/4 oz. hazelnuts or walnuts, roughly chopped
• 2 cups peeled, cored, and sliced apples
• 4 large plums, pitted and chopped
• 2 cups blackberries
• 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
• custard or whipped heavy cream, to serve

Directions
Heat the oven to 375°F.

Put the flour and sugar in a food processor and pulse to combine, then add the butter and process until the mixture resembles bread crumbs.

Stir in the nuts.

Toss together the fruit and cinnamon, then pile into a baking dish.

Scatter the crisp mixture over the top and bake in the hot oven about 45 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Serve with custard or whipped heavy cream.
