Nana's Pork In A Pot
Nana Nansi; Avon, Minnesota
Makes 4 to 6 servings


    • 1½ cups carrots in 1-inch pieces
    • 2 medium onions, cut into eighths
    • 1½ cups celery in 3/4-inch pieces
    • 1/2 pound green beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
    • 2 pounds boneless pork shoulder, cut into 1½-inch pieces
    • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/8 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
    • 1/2 cup ketchup


Place the carrots in the bottom of a 5-quart slow cooker 
Layer on the onions and then the celery, green beans, and pork.

Combine the flour, salt, ginger, and red pepper flakes in a small bowl 

Add the ketchup and mix well

Spoon the mixture over the meat, making a seal around the edges

Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 7 to 10 hours, or until the meat and vegetables are tender.
