MEATBALLS WITH RAISINS AND HONEY

Type of Recipe: Jewish Iraqi origin. Servings: 4-6
Ingredients: 800 grams minced meat 5 finely chopped onions 2 eggs salt & pepper 1 piece of white bread soaked in water & drained 3/4 cup oil 100 grams raisins Cinnamon 2 tbs. honey 3/4 cup water
Preparation: 1) Mix meat, 1 onion, eggs, bread, salt & pepper and the drained pieces of bread. 2) Make small balls and fry until brown (in a 1/4 cup oil). 3) Heat 1/2 cup oil in a large saucepan, fry 4 onions until golden. 4) Add meatballs and raisins. Season with salt & pepper, honey and cinnamon. Add water and bring to boil. 5) Cook on low heat for an hour.
Serving Suggestions: Serve over rice.
