GOLDEN BARS
Makes Approximately 24 Bars
Ingredients • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened • 1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats (uncooked) • 1 egg • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour • 1 tablespoon lemon juice • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1 teaspoon vanilla • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions • Preheat oven to 350°F.
• Combine all ingredients except nuts in large mixing bowl.
• Mix at low speed until well blended.
• Stir in nuts.
• Pour into greased 8-inch square baking pan.
• Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes.
• Allow to cool and cut into 24 bars.
