WEDDINGS

In Southend, England, Jason and Nina Payne didn't want a fancy wedding. They decided on a simple civil ceremony at the local Register Office, and then took their 26 guests to a nearby Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurant for the wedding reception.

"It was lovely," said the bride. The Sun newspaper also quoted the manager of the KFC - "Definitely the oddest thing I've seen since I've been here."

There was no mention of where they might have decided to go for their honeymoon. (10/04)
