BOTTLES

Archaeological finds show that the Egyptians were making glass bottles as early as 1400 B.C.

In 1608 the first American glass works began producing blown glass bottles in Jamestown, Virginia.

Beer was first sold in bottles in 1869 by English brewer Francis Manning-Needham.

Milk was first sold in glass bottles in 1879.  Echo Farms Dairy began to deliver milk in bottles to homes in Brooklyn, New York in 1879.

Plastic milk bottles were introduced in 1967.
