Steamin' Down the Tracks with Viola Hockenberry

2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup butter (room temperature)
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
2 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 package (12-oz.) chocolate chips
Sift together and then set aside flour, soda, salt, and baking powder.
Blend together butter and sugars.
Add eggs and mix until light and fluffy.
Add flour mixture and mix well.
Add oats, vanilla, and chocolate chips.
Drop by teaspoon fuls on greased cooky sheet and bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
