CHANA DAL BEANS

This is actually a type of split lentil, and is frequently used in Indian cooking as a thickener.

This bean looks just like split peas, but is quite different because it does not readily boil down so much. It is more closely related to the garbanzo beans or chickpeas. This bean has a great taste and also a very low glycemic index, which is important for those with diabetes.
