SALISBURY STEAK: Dr. James H. Salisbury
19th century English physician, Dr. James H. Salisbury, said that bread and vegetables were bad for us. He claimed that starch ferments in the stomach and produces acid, vinegar, alcohol and yeast, all of which poison bodily tissues and cause disease and mental derangement. Salisbury said we should eat broiled, lean ground beef 3 times a day.
The popular Salisbury steak was named after him.
