MARINADE
A marinade is a seasoned liquid, usually containing acidic ingredients such as vinegar, wine, or lemon juice, together with oil, various spices and/or herbs and frequently salt and/or sugar. Meat, fish, vegetables etc. are soaked in a marinade for periods ranging from minutes to days to flavor and/or tenderize them.
